I for one would love to see a new animated series of the Shi'ar Imperial Guard. The universe is literally the limit for a series like that. You could have the obvious guest stars, like the X-Men, but you could also bring in Galactus, Silver Surfer, Thanos, the Skrulls including the Super Skrull. The Kree, and pretty much ANY other marvel universe characters you wanted to. You could have the Guard members go to Earth if you wanted to bring in the Earth bound types, or you could span the universe for anyone else. It would be EPIC! I know some people don't like Gladiator, but I think he's awesome! I love the Trojan helmet hairdo, and think that visually, he is one of the coolest characters around! I also like the whole warrior mentality he has, and I always hoped that they would discover that he is actually a discarded herald of Galactus, because his loyalties were to the Shi'ar empire, and not to Galactus, and so Galactus found another herald. He seems to be about the power level of one of Galactus' heralds, and I think it would be dumb to have a whole planet of beings like him. If there were, they would have defeated the Shi'ar and everyone else, and be the ones ruling now, instead of the Shi'ar. So........ what does anyone else think of an Imperial Guard animated series? :) :) :)

I'd love to see an animated series bases on the Imperial Guard but realisticaly it will never happen . Maybe our best chance of seeing the IG & my favorite Guardsman, Gladiator is for them to play a major role in one of the Marvel DTV DVDs that Lionsgate is doing . I hear they are doing at least 9 DTV DVDS & maybe one of them can be a true adaptation of the Phoenix Saga & feature Gladiator throwing down w/Colossus instead of that cheesy fight w/Rogue in the 90s X-men animated series. Or dare I dream, a DTV DVD featuring the Imperial Guard in action & showcasing Gladiator in particular! I jus hope & pray Toybiz Gives us Gladiator in their Marvel legends action figure line sometime soon! He is an awesome character & visually very cool! I love his mohawk! I believe he is of the Shiar race, how he got so powerful beats me? It be nice if Marvel does an Origin of Gladiator mini series that shows how he came to be. Long live Gladiator!

Hey Thanos...... Can you tell me a bit more about these Lion's Gate DTV DVD's that I've been hearing about. I'm guessing that they haven't announced what properties the nine DVD's will be of yet? I think an Imperial Guard DVD would be a breath of fresh air. I mean, we'll probably get Spiderman, Hulk, Fantastic Four, X-Men, etc. , and I love all those characters, but I'd much rather have them concentrate on some different characters, like Gladiator and the Imperial Guard. I would also love to see Toybiz do a Gladiator Marvel Legends figure. But, I'm really hoping that Randy Bowen is going to do a full sized Gladiator statue. And, a mini bust with that cool trojan helmet hair of his would be very eye catching as well!
As far as Gladiator actually being a Shi'ar. From what I have been reading, he is supposed to be from a planet that is in the Shi'ar empire, but his is not of the actual Shi'ar race. All you have to do is look at him to know that's the case. The Shi'ar have feathers for hair, and of course, Gladiator has hair on his head, as well as that course almost horse looking mane of hair that is his mohawk, and his skin color, etc, etc. I read that he is one of a race called a "Strontian", but I haven't been able to find anything to back that up yet. I would definately love to see an origin series for Gladiator as well. I can't say I like the name that they have given him of "Kallark". Obviously a play on Kal El, and Clark, which just adds to the whole Superman copy thing. I'm okay with him having virtually the same powers as Superman, but I think it would be cool if Galactus had seen Superman sometime, and gave Gladiator powers similar, but a bit different from Superman's to be his herald, and then things didn't work out in the herald gig for Gladiator. I mean even the name "Gladiator", is a play off of the old story called Gladiator which is about Hugo Danner, who many feel is the character that Superman is largely based on. So, it's really like a circle of influence. Anyway..... does anyone have more info on the Lion's Gate DVD's, and can we make suggestions to them about what we as fans would like to see?

Marvel & this film company called Lionsgate have teamed up to produce 9 DTV animated movies based on the Marvel universe. From what I've read/heard, they have 2 Avenger DTV movies , an Ironman DTV & I believe an FF DTV. I'm sure X-men & Spidey are gonna be included among the 9 movies. They are slated for release sometime in 06. If anyone has better info than me, plz feel free to throw your 2 cents in. I think you & me are like the only 2 Gladiator freaks on these boards :D ! Ever since I first bought John Byrne's great FF #249-#250 & saw Gladiator beat the Thing like a red headed step child & the rest of the FF as well, I've been fascinated w/ mr Mohawk! His costume, his powers, his loyalty to the Shiar empire. I'd love to see a Superman/Gladiator battle! I've seen him fight & beat Hyperion (another favorite of mine), He's had some great fights w/Thor, Thing, Colossus, the Hulk & even with Supreme from Image comics! All I need is for ML to make him a figure, for him & the Imperial Guard to get a comic series & for Gladiator to appear in animated form in some future X-men DTV movie & I'd be happier than a pig in S$#%!
