welcome one and all to the greatest street on earth! drawing board avenue! in the coming month we will feature a parade of (hopefull) gigantic proportions! your assignment for this warm and cold month is to design your own float featuring one or more of the holidays during this month

requirements:
-no background. we (outlander00 :p) are hoping to string these floats together in some sort of collage. in order to do that, we must have plain white backgrounds
-coloring can be in any format you want. may i recommend spring-like colors though? you don't have to, but it'd be neat to view
-design should be like a float. for those in the dark, a "float" is a motorized stage decorated to symbolize a specific event. they often appear in parade's throughout the world
-nothing else

completed entries should be sent to bluefalcon@toonzone.net

let's set the deadline for sunday, march 26 :)

anybody can enter and there are no limitations

who's in?

Wow. Blue Falcon is posting the rules for the ASJ. Either I've been neglecting this board too much, or Blue Falcon as a mod is just too much for my mind to grasp. :p

Anyways, I like this premise. Let's see if I can come up with something. No promises, though! I'm pretty swamped as it is.

aww, man. i thought your style would work well with a spring float design, too. well, like i said, this isn't a sign up thread. if you feel like drawing a float, you may submit one or two or more before march 26 or a little after

so far, we have:
Blue Falcon
Czar Gata
StarScream64(?)

a three float parade? man, there have better be some funny clowns handing out boat loads of candy... :p

Question, what angle do you want it at? Is this a flat side view, or can it be at a front angled view?

Question, what angle do you want it at? Is this a flat side view, or can it be at a front angled view?whew! thanks for reminding me, artimus. now then...

all entries should be drawn from a side view, 2D style, with the back of the float being on the left and the front of the float being on the right. as in...

Back of float<--->Front of float

this would work the best if we want to string them together

any other angled views you want to include can be submitted as well as we, the DB crew, are always happy to accept art work :)

don't know what i was thinking. the deadline is the 27th, not the 26th. yep. still easter sunday :) i do realize this weekend is a holiday weekend, so if you spend time with family or friends instead of working on your entry, it's understandable :)

one week until deadline. thank you

Just to clarify for everyone, you mean the float is from the side, that doesn't mean all characters have to be 2D from the side, right? As long as your float is 2-D, what you do ON the float is up to you.

That right BF? Just so we don't get some very flat entries. :)
