I want to stab her voice actor. Mostly because of the way she says "Tenshi." Then again I could probably just blame the language.

If you didn't know the story, it's about a Murder Angel who comes to live with a kid.
If he pisses her off, she kills him with her bat Excalibur.
Then she brings him back to like by chanting "Piri-piri-piri-pi-pi!".

It's a bloody love story. Literally.

It has to be if Go-Chin likes it. Die plz.

I'm not into loli.

And no, this was originally a novel. The fifth book is out.
There's also a manga series, a radio show, and now the OVA.

Naw, they've been playing with it for a while now in Japan (Gunslinger Girl, Petit Cossette.) I'd bet there are even earlier examples, I just don't know them off the top of my head.

I've had a chance to see this now and the "Hare Nochi Guu" connection is
very strong - probably too strong. HnG made an impression because it was
very different and very surreal. The viewer never quite knew what was real
and what wasn't. Even the fundamental questions about Guu were never
answered. Dokuro-chan, on the other hand, just puts Hare into a room with a
more violent Rizelmine. I was waiting for some new or original concept to
show up in Dokuro-chan, but instead there were more references to other
series such as Tenshi ni Narumon, and so Dokuro-chan suffered in comparison.

Why am I supposed to be interested in the characters in Dokuro-chan? Why
should I care enough to laugh at their predicaments. Why "tease" about the
nudity and blood, unless this is just a cynical ploy to get the viewer to
buy the DVDs?

I just get the feeling that "Dokuro-chan" was dreamt up in a rush in an
attempt to simply cash in on the "tease" factor - I was expecting Dokuro to
blantantly tell the viewers to "Buy the DVDs and see my boobies". But there
was nothing in the show that made me want to spend money on it.

Hmm, it's Guu-esque, eh? Well, either Matt Wilson love it for the direction or hate it for loli-overtones and lack of innovation.

Either way, the supposed Guu-ishness of it bumps it up on to my must see atleast an episode list.

Karl Olson

OK, I'm watching the first episode it now and I'm noticing a few things:

1. Great big "Sponsored By Geneon Entertainment" in the sponsored by list after the credits. Pretty safe bet as to who owns this one. We'll see it stateside by this time next year if their turn around time on Cossette is any indication of how long it takes Geneon to get an OVA out in America.

2. Random Michael Jackson and Kim Jong Li on the TV.

3. It's insanely violent. It's got like Aqua Teen Hunger Force Shooting A Nun In The Head kind of bloodspray. However, darn it's not funny somehow inspite of it all.

4. Dokuro-Chan doesn't really seem loli: she's a little too developed if you catch my drift.

5. It's still hella ecchi.

6. But there is something amusing about lines like "Dumbass Angel!"

7. And something awkward about the teacher saying "Dokuro-Chan has a nice body, doesn't she?" in a completely unexcited tone.

8. I'm also watching it raw, so I'm kinda surprised just how much Japanese I've picked up from subtitled anime.

9. Never use an electric shock baton strong enough to drop a whale when you're covered in water.

10. Get old and ugly when take their halo.

11. Geneon probably has a winner in this show, for better or worse.

BTW, pretty sure this OVA series will be 10-12 episodes long.

True, I guess it depends on whether Geneon America is backing it in addition to Geneon Japan. It's a Rondo Robe title, so clearly it's atleast got Geneon Japan's cash in it, but it just looked to smooth and clean, even for an OVA, to not have some foriegn backing.

Besides, American Distribution has no connection to whether it was a co-pro or not. Anyway, the bigger thing is that no Geneon USA stuff directly listed in the credits from what I can see. It suggests that even though it's a Rondo Robe title, it's still sorta up for grabs. I suppose it's something for me to ask about SakuraCon next week.

I watched the first two eps of this and its so friggin funny... The blood and stuff just adds to the hilarity since its not serious at all. C'mon just look at how much spurts out ;)

I loved how the opening mentions George Bushand the reporter is saying infrared technology says the bulge on his back under his suit in the debate was an eraser...just so out of left field to hear...haha

Well I watched the final two eps and I gotta say I was disapointed. By ep 6 Dokuro went from a cute Pyscho to just plain annoying as she merceressly killed Sakura to the point it wasn't funny anymore. The ending was a real let down though as it seemed nothing was resolved. I know this was'nt a show where story came first but, still I feel they could have wrapped things up a little better.

Actually, it's 8.

8 episodes of wonderful wonderful bloodspray. I never knew a human body could blow up in some many ways.

Lolicon? Nahh, it's not fetishised in that way, but ecchi most asuredly. Keep the kids well away from it, unless you want to stunt their mental development.

Oh, and Vayukure(sp?) was garbage. At least Dokuro-chan has something other than fetish and boobs. Sakura and his almost-gf are actually relaly sweet when they're together.

Only a female novel author has the mental capacity and sadistic enough to cause such pain to male characters.

Even this show makes Kenny's deaths in South Park look trivial...
