The Flash was actually "partially sculpted", but never produced because the line died at retail: http://www.toyotter.com/stas/flash.html
Lobo is said to have been sculpted for the JL line by Mattel but shelved.
Pierre "Airmax" Kalenzaga did an amazing Parademon custom that I wish could be mass-produced.
It's a shame that all of Timm's New Gods characters weren't made into toys.

Hope it sees the light of day at some point

With the exception of Mr. Mxysptlk practically ALL of Superman's supporting cast and rogues have appeared on Justice League or JLU at some point. I take it that means that if this JLU toyline gets as great as it's potential is we MIGHT see some of the characters we were denied the first time. (Especially in a three pack.)
Here are some of the Superman characters that have appeared on JL/JLU:
Lex Luthor, Lois Lane, Darkseid, Metallo, Bizarro, Kallibak, Steel, Jimmy Olsen, Mercy Graves, Emil Hamilton, Ma and Pa Kent, Supergirl, Lobo, Toyman, Parasite, Volcana, Luminus, Desaad, Orion, Brainiac, and others.
I could never find Superman figures down here. Who actually was made?

Thanks for the link, Peter. :)
I always thought that this line was a single line, with only Brainiac as the villain. However, it does seem a little mediocre, especially when compared to the Batman line. Metallo's paint seems unfinished, Darkseid looks massive and... what's up with that Lex?

I looked over my shoulder when I read that, Brainiac :p
Lobo should definitely have been made. Flash too since I had to get the Total Justice version, he just doesnt fit into the animated look. I would have loved a Professor Hamilton though I'm pretty sure not many kids would have bought him...

Hopefully this bump doesn't get me into trouble...
...but as a counterpoint to all my Matty-related angst lately, I thought it would be really nice to look at just how much has changed in five years. Figures we never thought would be made have reached the fans in the form of the following:

Plus new versions of Metallo and Bizarro, who never really got a wide release during the STAS days.
Have a good day.

At the top of my list was always a suited Lex Luthor. I never cared for the Lex in Kryptonite armor toy, and even the JL Luthor in a suit isnt that nice a figure.
But at the time the toy line was out, I was somewhat collecting it, and thats the one I wanted them to make.

Hey Derek!
A nice custom to make is to take the S:TAS Luthor head and put it on a Mattel Two-Face/Gen Eiling body and paint the suit black. Still not exactly right (though the Mattel Luthor in a suit was too short with a weird face, his proportions were pretty right - he's a filled-out man) but it'll probably look nice in your collection.
