This is simply hilarious.I mean, to come out and say it out loud that yes, its the attractive people that get away with better things is plain...unbelievable and downright hilarious!And just so very silly in that us humans believe ourselves to be better than such narrow mindness. Good grades and resume aside, now folks have to worry about how tall they are or how thin they should be... :rolleyes2

Its just one of those times when my belief that us humans are idiots of the highest order and that we complicate our own lives further is blatantly reassured.:ack:

It's always been that way since time out of mind. Some societies put different values on beauty but beauty has ALWAYS been an advantage.

2) There may be biological and reproductive reasons for initial conceptions of beauty that have to do with resources and number of mates etc. So is it really a failing? Or a type of survival mechanism we evolved that we don't need as much anymore?

Yep, it's one of those unspoken things. Being attractive tends to be a plus in jobs where you are interacting with people.

And yeah, Trump and Gates don't look so hot now, maybe they were handsome in their youth. *shrugs* Also, different times, different standards.

If you don't have tremendous determination, charisma or smarts, being good looking is the next best thing. I do believe that human beings' first impressions always dwell on the superficial, but you can't blame them either. That's all they got to go on at first.

Actually part of what I was thinking was that these two men, like them or not, weren't given gobs of money by just expecting it. They worked for it.


If your goal is to make tons of money, you're going to be disappointed waiting for it to come your way from someone else. Gotta go out and make it happen.

Some employers are just so gullible about pretty people being more effective. Although I bet they must have factored those fashion models for advertisements into the equation; you won't believe how much money they earn at times, and they aren't always limited to one company.
