Superman's ultimate villain...

Batman's ultimate nemesis is undoubtly the Joker, but Superman seems to have more than just one arch nemesis, so it's hard to pick the ultimate one.

Here are my candidates:

Brainiac: It's his fault that Krypton ended this way, he told everyone to ignore Jor-El's warnings.

Lex Luthor: Well he's just jealous because of Superman's powers (and hair :p ) and tries everything to get rid of him.

Darkseid: Responsible of the destruction of thousands of planets and Turpin's death. Now his goal is to destroy Earth.

I have to say Lex Luthor.

Darkseid is a villain to the entire DC Universe, and Brainiac was only a real threat in "Last Son of Krypton" and "Stolen Memories." After that, he went the way of the Cyborg from [i]Reign of the Superman[/b] and Metallo from S:TAS.

I always thought Luthor is the ultimate villian. Just becuase they don't match in brawn doesn't mean Lex stil lcan't beat the guy. And now that Luthor is President in the DCU - I can't wait to see what will come up.

All three originally said were great choices, but the number one baddie is Lex. Braniac and Darkseid are tied for a close second though.

That's why I said if you wanna get nitpicky (including all mediums and continuities). If they did do Ultra on JL, I'd wanna see the bald mad scientist. Or maybe they'll incorporate the UH aspect into LEX LUTHOR!!!!!!
