I'm headed to the big apple and wanted to know if there were any mainstream or boutique comic or toy shops in the midtown/65th and park area specializing in DC items or interesting collectibles for that matter?

Yeah, Midtown is good.

Jerk, do you know what happened to Cosmic Comics on 36 E 23rd Street? Did it move or something?

Yeah I highly recommend Midtown Comics. I go there every week now that I work in the heart of Times Square.

Midtown Comics Times Square
200 W 40th Street (Corner of 7th Avenue)
New York, NY 10018

Midtown Comics Grand Central
459 Lexington Avenue (Corner of 45th Street)
New York, NY 10017

My impression is that they have a lot more collectibles than Jim Hanley's does and their toys are much more fairly priced in my opinion.

Midtown has done well to keep all the current Animated Maquettes around and tend to have the JLU packs as well.

Toys R Us is just a few blocks away to boot!

I'd also suggest checking out Forbidden Planet if you get to go downtown.

Forbidden Planet 840 Broadway @ 13th Street 212 473-1576

There's a small WB store in the Time Warner Center that has a surprisingly large selection of DCAU merchandise (cells, T-shirts, marquettes, toys, etc.)

Eep, Cosmic Comics is actually on 10 East 23rd street. Must've missed it.

If you're in that area, check them out. They've got a pretty big display case with busts and statues and stuff.

I was sure that ALL the WB stores closed. What types of cels do they have? Where in that horrific buiding is this diamond in the rough located? I haven't dared step foot inside yet.

Anyway, it's on the top floor in the center; It is actually the same room where the CNN center tour start, so there is a CNN logo and a WB logo, if I remember right. I've only been there once.

Hmmm! Thanks for the heads up. I'll have to swing by there next time I visit my mom on the Upper West Side.
