Okay, other than the fact that we are on the Road to WrestleMania I honestly have no real idea what it is going on right now (four RAWs and counting, I don't know how I managed this :o ). My thanks to Kippy for keeping you all talking late this week as I work on my job search. He'll be with you again SmackDown! thru HEAT because I will be out of town. To the show...

A night of retribution
Feb. 28, 2005

When we last saw Triple H, he had just been driven through a table with a Batista Bomb. Now that The Cerebral Assassin knows he'll be facing Evolution's Animal at WrestleMania, what will he do? And is it possible for Batista to top the impact he had last week on RAW? Tune in on Monday night to find out.

The hatred between Edge and Shawn Michaels can't seem to be contained to the wrestling ring, so on Monday Night RAW, they'll square off in a Street Fight Match. Edge's frustration and fury have boiled over, while HBK won't stand for any more backstage sneak attacks. They'll try to settle the score in a lawless environment on Monday.

Muhammad Hassan and Khosrow Daivari left Chris Benoit beaten and lying in the ring last week. But it won't be two-on-one with The Crippler gets his hands on Hassan this week on RAW. Will the young newcomer be able to take the action to the 18-year veteran, and will either man be able to lock in his signature submission?

Watch RAW on Spike TV (9/8 CT) to find out.

Is it just me, or is it weird to see the crowd using the USA chant for Benoit?

(or was the crowd just trying to mess with Hassan?)

Hassan delivers a Low blow.... that'll just make Benoit angry.

Okay, when someone causes injuries such as the ones Chris Masters caused to Steven Richards, it's time to stop their damned push and send them back to get some training on how to not injure people for god's sake. How many more people are they going to let him maime?

Funny bit from the opening promo as HHH said he was Batista's father. First God, now Dad. Crazy man.

I guess Hogan and Vince settled their differences and Hogan's in the hall of Fame. Good, Hogan deserves it, despite all the crap he's pulled.

And at Wrestlemania, Austin will be on Piper's Pit. I guess this will end with Piper getting stunned. I wouldn't be surpised if Austin is the most over man at Mania.

Now on to Batista's promo. It was actually a bit of a disappointment. His delivery was off. He didn't reveal much about HHH's plans et al. And he praised HHH. he lost a bit of momentum with that promo, though he did a good job with Flair. And keep in mind next week, Flair and Batista wrestle in NC, Flair's home state.

The new trailer with Cena and JBL was very good. JBL had lots of great moments in the Jack Nicholson role.

That Playboy cover of Christy was so unsexy.

Looks like we're headed for an Orton-Taker showdown at Wrestlemania. This could be the Mania that Taker's streak ends.

Very good main event. Would've liked it more if Edge won. Very nice cameo by Smackdown's Kurt Angle. Also a nice touch of security coming in. Even Lawler objected to what Angle did. And it's official, Angle-Michaels. And if tonight was proof, this could be the best part of Mania. 2 legends in an awesome match.

Huh. There was really only one good match, but I was still pretty entertained by this week's RAW. I guess it helped that there really weren't any slow segments. I'd still like to see some better wrestling next week.

A promo and a squash by Triple H. What a great way to start off RAW.

Benoit versus Hassan was okay. It was good when Benoit was in control since he was working at such a quick pace, but Hassan wasn't that impressive. I don't know what was up with that ending. Benoit wasn't even close to hitting the ring bell.

I hope they're done announcing inductees for the WWE Hall of Fame. Nobody can top Hulk Hogan.

Benjamin versus Snitsky was decent. I'm glad that Benjamin finally got a decisive victory over Snitsky. Maybe next week we'll find out what the Intercontinental Champion will be doing at WrestleMania now that this mini-feud is seemingly over.

Hey, Masters is still on the show and he already has to wrestle jobbers in a desperate attempt to look tough. Richards may not do much on the show, but it's still a shame that he got injured. You'd think that WWE would have learned their lesson after Heidenreich.

Jericho's match was pretty much a squash. I don't remember Maven being on offense for very long. Jericho's announcement after the match was pretty interesting. I guess that match is where guys like Benoit, Edge, and Christian are going to end up.

So Orton versus Undertaker at WrestleMania? That could be a good match, but I'm more interested in what those two will be doing after the show. I wouldn't mind seeing either of them turn heel.

The street fight between Michaels and Edge was very good. Michaels' face was just sick. It looked like he lost a ton of blood. I also would have liked to see Edge pick up the victory just to cement his status as one of the top heels, but I won't complain too much. I mentioned the possible run-in by Angle in the last SmackDown! thread, but somehow I forgot about it tonight. That was just a great ending for the show.

Is it just me, or is it weird to see the crowd using the USA chant for Benoit?

(or was the crowd just trying to mess with Hassan?)

Hassan delivers a Low blow.... that'll just make Benoit angry.I think it was more anti-Hassan more than anything else, although they've been announcing Atlanta GA as Benoit's hometown for a while now (same thing with Jericho being from NY and either Edge or Christian being from Florida). The WWE has been slowly trying to de-Canadianize some of their guys for a while now.

Haven't been watching too carefully for a while (Raw is usually background noise in my room). HHH/Batista had great build-up over the last few months, but I'm still not totally thrilled at the thought of that headlining Wrestlemania (I'm not crazy over JBL/Cena for that matter).

Shelton retains. Please let this Snitsky feud be over.

"The Narcissist" Chris Masters. Yup, I'm sick of him and the full-nelson already.

Hogan and Austin back in time for Wrestlemania? Sure, why not? The Piper's Pit is going to end in Stunners and beer anyway, so I might as well enjoy it.

Orton vs Taker? I guess I can live with that. Orton ending the streak? Hell no. I still don't buy the guy as a legit main-eventer, and personally, I don't care to see him get pushed again anytime soon.

"Your head's so hard it broke my shoe". That was funny as crap. Strange how I can help but think NWO everytime someone breaks out the spray paint.

Cena/JBL in A Few Good Men was better than "Braveheart" but not as good as the "Forrest Gump" or "Basic Instinct" parodies.

Jericho's idea for a ladder match at least adds something to a somewhat lackluster Wrestlemania card. I guess Shelton's gonna defend the IC title in this if they can't find something else for him to do.

Edge/HBK was decent (HBK over-does the blade job once again), but I was miffed that HBK had to get the win. Seeing Angle beat him down like that was cool, but I wonder why he couldn't just interfere in the match itself.

A promo and a squash by Triple H. What a great way to start off RAW.

King Ego vs. Hurricane never really got started. We'd all be better off if Pinocchio Helmsley didn't waste everyone's time with the same tired jibba-jabba every week.

Benoit versus Hassan was okay. It was good when Benoit was in control since he was working at such a quick pace, but Hassan wasn't that impressive. I don't know what was up with that ending. Benoit wasn't even close to hitting the ring bell.

Agreed. I think Hassan fouled that one up. There was a 2nd miscue in the match. After the DQ, Hassan & Daivari just walked away. No further beatdown, as if they knew they screwed up something fierce.

I hope they're done announcing inductees for the WWE Hall of Fame. Nobody can top Hulk Hogan.

You forgetting someone, fool? What about MR. T in the celebrity wing, so that the combatants in the 1st Wrestlemania main event are all inducted together?

Benjamin versus Snitsky was decent. I'm glad that Benjamin finally got a decisive victory over Snitsky. Maybe next week we'll find out what the Intercontinental Champion will be doing at WrestleMania now that this mini-feud is seemingly over.

I had Hassan pegged to move on to the IC title, and maybe this is it.

Hey, Masters is still on the show and he already has to wrestle jobbers in a desperate attempt to look tough. Richards may not do much on the show, but it's still a shame that he got injured. You'd think that WWE would have learned their lesson after Heidenreich.

And who was the refugee from the Babaganoush family, anyway?

Jericho's match was pretty much a squash. I don't remember Maven being on offense for very long. Jericho's announcement after the match was pretty interesting. I guess that match is where guys like Benoit, Edge, and Christian are going to end up.

Agreed. I'd plug in Matt Hardy, too, as he'll be returning around that time, I do believe.

So Orton versus Undertaker at WrestleMania? That could be a good match, but I'm more interested in what those two will be doing after the show. I wouldn't mind seeing either of them turn heel.

I'd call it a matter of respect, and leave them both as faces post-Mania.

The street fight between Michaels and Edge was very good. Michaels' face was just sick. It looked like he lost a ton of blood. I also would have liked to see Edge pick up the victory just to cement his status as one of the top heels, but I won't complain too much. I'm going to be at the taping for Smackdown. We'll see if HBK follows Kurt to Albany.

Long time no see. My computer "died" last week so I could not be here.

Oh well, as for RAW this week.

Criple H did a good promo in the beginning but the squash was not necessairly. Batista's promo was kind of disappointing.

Benoit and Hassan. Good Match but the finish by a low blow. I knew Benoit cannot lose to him and Hassan can't lose yet too. So it's finished by a DQ.

YES TO HULK HOGAN IN HALL OF FAME. The next should be Bret Hart next year.

No Captain Charisma, that sucked. Christian has a great talent. WWE should push him very hard like Jericho.

Piper's pit at Wrestlemania with Stone Cold. This could be entertaining.

Here's what I expect. Piper arrives and shows his ego because he is now a hall of fame and no one can't disagree about that. The people boo him. Then enter Stone Cold. Piper insults Austin because he is fat piece of garbage who drinks some no good beers with no talent. Austin now talks. Piper insults again Austin. Then Austin gives the finger then the stunner. Then here's come the beer.

The Street Fight was awesome. Nice to see Kurt Angle. I expect to see HBK at Smackdown.

At Wrestlemania, inter-promontional matches are allowed, since Wrestlemania is the biggest PPV of the year. It adds to the mystique of Wrestlemania.

Wow... that was a stinker of a raw.

The only good parts were the men of honor spoof (which kicked much butt) and the last match (again... great here).

Lordy.. I was cheering for Trish. That new beoch is just annoying as can be.

Who did Benoit cheese off to get stuck with apu there in this series. Oh how the mighty have fallen...

Humm... hardcore title flashback then Y2J wants a 6 man match as WM. Could it be the return of the hardcore belt? Naw, probably just another 6 man tag match that we get every other week as is.

Plus we get to see the hall of famers not once... but twice.. Nice filler there inbetween all the "just moments ago" segments.
