Sugimura was one of my personal favorite and most inspired game designers. He will always have a place in my heart and fellow gamers who appreciated his work. :(

At least we're sympathtic. At another forum I frequent, two members were unimpressed with those of us who gave sympathy.

We never knew him as a person but he was a force in the gaming industry.

If there will be an Onimusha 4, it will certainly be different.

Resident Evil 2 was a great game. Regardless, a man lost his life.

May he rest in peace.

Exactly!! A man lost his life, and at this other forum, the two members were like, "40,000 people die every day. Why aren't you being sympathtic towards them?" They're not mentioned. Yes, people die every day. It's sad, but if we don't hear about it, there's nothing we can do.

I feel sad when people die. :(

In memory, I am going to play a bit of the Onimusha series later.

Scary thing is, my Dad was also born in 1948.

1948? Pretty young...he was a very creative person, I deeply admired his story telling abilities. I'll always miss the loss of a great story teller, the modern world has so very few and the ones in the gaming world get little recognition from other media enthusiasts which is a tragedy. VIDEO GAMES CAN BE ART TOO! Ugh...the day that is recognized I will be more content...of course by then games will be more commercialized than the film industry...thanks EA! :(.

Story telling is something I hold value in and a field I may one day have a career in. I'm so interested in it that I'm almost positive I will be working on books, comics, film, tv, or games for at least part-time. The world needs good story tellers, they give us morals, lessons, and things to find value in. More than that, if nothing else, they give us a bit of escapist pleasure from a world that's quickly going mad. Game story telling is no exception and Sugimara was one of the best in the gaming industry. Sugimara, was an excellent writer and the industry will be less than it was without his creative vision.
