Has anyone seen this movie? I checked out the little write up on the official site... CowboyBebop.com (http://www.cowboybebop.com/english)
I guess the movie doesn't carry on the story, but is more like missing a episode right before the "Real Folk Blues" two-parter. That's weird, but oh well. Anyone know when this will hit our shores?

Actually, it takes place before Hard Luck Woman, I believe.

Why is that so weird? Have you seen the last two episodes? LOL.
There's also a "review" (more like shameless plug) on this site.

I am not sure when the DVD hits the stores but VCDs of it are popping up on Amazon.com's z-shops and auctions.

The movie was just released in Japan in September. It's not gonna be out on DVD that fast, mate.
As for those VCDs...can you say "bootlegging" and "piracy?"

Yeah, I think we know what the VCDs mean. I am just suprised Amazon.com allows them on their site.

Haven't seen it yet. . . I usually avoid fansubs except in the most extreme circumstances and besides I prefer the English voices. ;) So I'm going to wait a year or so for it to come to the US.
If anyone wants to download the trailer (instead of stream it) I've got the .mov of it on my site:

The movie is awesome. Obtain a copy by any means necessary. It takes anime movies F'N years to come out here in the states and this one's all about terrorism so who knows when it will be out. The movie is a lot darker and more serious than the series. It reminds me of a Tom Clancy based movie like Patriot Games or something. The villain is very cool in this movie. You have probably read the reviews of this movie from the previous posts so in short this movie is recommended if you like cowboy bebop in the least.

The movie is HUGE compared to anything the series itself had to offer.

Well the fansub rocks, and if you are waiting for the dub you are stupid b/c the american actors they are goign to get for this movie are goign to blow compaired to the original jap actors they have. personly the movie is the best movie i have ever seen. I would highly recomend the fan sub, and when the dvd comes go buy it fast.

Not going to say it's the best movie ever but it was good.......just really kinda too bad you know nothin big can really happen considering it doesn't happen by the series end.

You can download the fansubbed movie off Morpheus or Kazaa. The only problem? On a 56k modem it takes...oh...about...77,000 minutes to get. My friend has a Cable modem, and it took him about 4 hours.

77000 minutes? Heck, that's only 1284 hours, which only amounts to about 53 days! I am going to start downloading NOW!

in my eyes a fansub is as bad as a dub...
i'll wait for the DVD, thank you very much...
oh and there might be a limited theatrical run, dubbed of course...

You make dubs sound like a bad thing, Chibi. ;) I admit that most dubs aren't up to par, but CB's is one of the best.

one of the better dubs, true...
the best 2 dubs in recent times are the rerelease of Akira and Trigun
anything else, i'd rather peel my skin off with those little tweezers one piece at a time than listen to the bland, emotionless actors

Colombia/TriStar (http://www.columbiatristarfilms.com/) is Currently in a bidding war (http://www.animenewsnetwork.com/article.php?id=1417) with Bandai Entertainment (http://www.bandai-ent.com/) to acquire the rights of the Cowboy Bebop Movie (www.cowboybebop.com) to show in theatres. Let's hope Colombia/TriStar wins, thus assuring a nationwide release.
Edit: Gah, spelling.

Much as I want CB to make it to theaters, I'm a bit worried. If anyone besides Bandai gets the rights, I'm afraid they'll recast the roles which would suck bigtime. Hopefully, the original English actors have gotten enough exposure through AS that Columbia/Tristar won't want to rock the boat in that respect.
