Kids WB Talkback: Yu-Gi-Oh! 2/19/05 (SPOILERS)

It's Yu-Gi-Oh talkback time!

This week, Joey begins his duel with Valon, in the hopes that it'll bring him closer to freeing Mai. But he soon learns that his opponent's deck has a few surprises. Will even Hermos be enough?

The episodes have already aired in most of the country, and shall be repeated Friday afternoon.

WOW!!! Valon's makin' a monkey out of poor Joey with that armor! Not even Jinzo was able to stop it!:eek: :( I only hope Joey's "dragon" card can help turn things around for him.

I still wonder what Mai has in store for him as well.:(

and the one major animation gripe I have about this series: they constantly repeat yugi's/kaiba's/jou's animations. =/

Yeah... Just what was Valon in jail for? That was the shortest Biker flashback.

And as for animation... Anyone notice that Jou goes off-model every arc or so? His chin squares up a bit and his mouth spazzes.

So....do Joey and Mai wind up together in the end of the series?

I doubt it...this is anime.

Hordesman- Valon's flashback started in a church (cue 4kids to cut for KidsWB. :D ), and apparently Valon was getting bandaged up by a Sister there who runs the church. She also uses it to care for any of the local children. She comments that Valon needs to quit getting into fights.

These mafia-esque thugs walk in and demand that she leave the church. Apparently she's had problems keeping the church going financially and they want her spot since she can't pay anymore. Valon wants to fight them out (mind you, he's about 10-12 during this flashback), but the sister tells him not to.

Later on at night, Valon's walking when he notices a fire at the church. People, and the children that were cared for at the church, look on at horror to see the church ablaze (the sister's fate is left up in the air but ominous). Valon sees the thugs that were at the church earlier laughing, saying "we were just going to take the building down anyway. This fire makes things easier!". Valon's eyes begin twitching and he's pretty angry. Next scene cues the sound of police sirens. In a dark alley, you see Valon drop a lead pipe he was holding, as he's a bit bruised. All the thugs from before I lying on the ground, pummeled and motionless.

Then Valon's in prison. Pretty obvious what his crime was, right? ;)

Next week won't be too fun. Probably going to get cut a bit as it may be considered too violent for KidsWB...really, all it really is would be a couple of exchanged punches. =/

I know! It's hard for the dub watchers to know Valon's past if they don't even know that he was sent to prison for being framed. They made it look like he diserved to go to prison! They also called the prison a detention center! And people think One Piece is as butchered! Yu-Gi-Oh has a lot more edits!

I already knew that the church scene was going to be edited out, but 4kids could have at least made up a crime for Varon. They could have just said he was framed. Now what will Dartz say as his true meddling in Varon's life? "I transfered Valon to that detention center so I could actually meet him. I so evil!" I am not too happy with DOMA's editing, and I fear the worst for next week. If they ruin my favorite Varon line, I will hate the dubbing for this arc as well (which is somewhat good).
