As you all know, Toonzone got mentioned in the dot.comics section of Wizard #124. I read the article and, is it just me, or did the Wizard writing staff kind of blow us off? They mentioned the site briefly in terms of upcoming news, but went on to say that our most of our news was "borrowed" from other websites and that people would do better to just go to the original sources.

I mean, I know that this was just an overview of sites, but I think that they kind of shortchanged Toonzone.

I think they did really shortchange ToonZone. God knows I come here for my news. So what if it's borrowed. It's COLLECTED here, unlike anywhere else. ALL the news is here. Great job, guys. Keep it up.

As for Wizard, they've shortchanged Justice League period. When X-Men Evolution came out there were character designs, in depth interviews, and loads of good stuff. Justice League gets a half page blurb every three issues...

WIZARD isn't what it used to be. It's a smelling pile of you know what now.... After all who had the first character design pics??

You guys rock! Wizard should appreciate the fact that you can go to one site for all your news. I also agree that they short changed JL. I think they're Marvel Zombies. C'mon - how could you not cover JL in depth. How many emmys have Bruce Timm and Co. won? Marvel usually puts out crap for very young audiences - nothing as sophisticated as WB with BTAS and STAS. Go Toonzone! :D

....and was it just me or did WIZARD give Samuri Jack more press then JL? God I swear that mag has gone to crap. Once my subscription runs out next year I won't be getting it anymore, I've had enough of all the OLD news in it aswell. (I could go on and on)

I only get WIZARD 'cause my mom pays for the subscription. If I had to pay for it, it'd be gone.

Yeah, JL and Toonzone got the shaft big time. Glad I'm not the only one who noticed it.

Man, I was just talking about the website itself, but now that you mention it Wizard did blow off the Justice League show.

No character designs (which they did [kind of] for the first two Batman shows), no feature articles, and no special CD-ROM (like Samurai Jack did). They screwed us!

You're right, by the way, Wizard is kissing Marvel Comics ass this year. All they write about now is Spider-Man and Grant Morrison's X-Men title (which is very cool, don't get me wrong...). They've been all about them ever since Joe Quesada took over.

And do you get the feeling that they get paid by comics companies to report certain stuff over other? I mean, CrossGen Comics gets plenty of publicity from them, but who reads their stuff? In fact, who knows anything about the company except that they signed well-known creators to lifetime contracts and that they have tons of funding. Hmmm...

I didn't read the Wizard article about this site so I can't comment on that, but I can say that the magazine has done a poor job of covering Justice League. I've been purposely looking for the mag on the stands to get some cool designs or scoops but they haven't done a thing. This show is the most anticipated comics cartoon in history most likely and the mag that claims to be the premier comics source hasn't done it justice at all. Excuse the pun.

Wizard did give Toon Zone the shaft a bit. When I first skimmed through the article, I saw the Toon Zone / World's Finest name and flipped out. I quickly scanned through the article not really paying attention to it. I instantly posted as soon as I reasd it. The more I re-read it, the more it just looked bad. At least we've gotten a bit of press anyways. WIZARD is just a joke now. I remember way back in the 20's and 30's of the magazine, they did articles on BATMAN ADVENTURES, BATMAN: TAS, BATMAN: TNA, SUPERMAN: TAS and wasn't biased. Now? Porobably 3 pages MAX of coverage since the show was announced in April. And on the other hand, a combined 10 pages of coverage for X-MEN: EVOLUTION (a poor show).

I was really, ereally dissapointed in the article, but...hey...the site got mentioned...:)

At least Toon Zone is getting more attention. People can take that Wizard article how they want to, but if Toon Zone has the stuff, and they do, then when and if the people who read the article check us out, they will see that Wizard was indeed wrong about us.

Wizard doesn't know what they're talking about. Their entire staff is little more than a tribe of well fed monkeys.

As see you added that "As Seeon in Wizard" blurb to your site! :)

Yeah, the magaine has just lost all it's intergrity. I still pick up the odd issue now and again if they do anything about DC Comics. The crew just seems to be infatuated with fart and monkey jokes...ah well...

Yep, Wizard sucks. I stopped buying them on any regular basis a long time ago. I still pick up an issue once in a while if I'm planning on selling a bunch of comics on ebay and want the price guide. But otherwise, I skip it.
