This will be the first-ever showing on TV of Around the World in Eighty Days in widescreen.
Every laserdisc, TV, and even videocassette version had a tattered and cropped print that looked horrible.
I sent a letter requesting this movie to be shown in widescreen and they took up my request!
This film features a fantastic credit sequence animated by Saul Bass and even Shamus Culhane!
Don't miss it!
(Off topic, yes, but it has animated credits. :) )

Sorry to tell you, but TCM has shown this before and in widescreen. I think that even AMC, which showed this several times in the past year or two, showed it occasionally in widescreen. It is a good movie and the credits are great!

This is a matter which has been discussed at great length by film freaks and film industry pros on rec.arts.movies.tech. There has never been, in fact, an English-language widescreen video transfer of "80 Days." They've all been pan-and-scan, at least up until now. Apparently there is a Swedish-language widescreen video transfer which has aired there, however.
