St. Valentine's Day RAW
Feb. 14, 2005
Will it be a Valentine's Day Massacre when Raw comes to you live, from Cincinnati, OH tonight? A few matches have already been signed for tonight's show, and all signs are pointing to a night of mayhem.
Last week, Batista helped cost Edge the victory in his World Heavyweight Championship match against Triple H. After waiting so long to finally get his shot, Edge is furious that he was "screwed" once again in his quest for the gold. He has revenge on his mind and will be looking to take down Batista tonight.
Randy Orton was able to pick up a hard-fought win over Tyson Tomko last week in Japan, but after the match, he was brutally attacked by Captain Charisma himself, Christian, who punished Orton with the Unprettier. Orton looked as if he might have been concussed again last week, but he will also be looking for revenge tonight, as he takes on Christian in one-on-one action.
La Resistance is none too happy that they lost their World Tag Team Championships to William Regal & Tajiri last week in Tajiri's native Japan, so they are invoking their rematch clause tonight in hopes that the outcome will be different now that the Japanese Buzzsaw doesn't have home-field advantage.
Plus, another member of the Class of 2005 Hall of Fame Inductees will be announced. You won't want to miss this much-anticipated announcement!
Tune in to RAW (9/8 CT; Spike TV) to find out

Some short thoughts during the show -
Orton/Christian was amazing. Want to see where this continues to.
Triple H looks like a doof with the James Hetfield sideburn/stache combo. :p

Of course they capitalzed on Candice Michelle's SuperBowl fame, by having a lame Highlight reel. Jericho's promos have gotten lamer and lamer.
Orton-Christian was pretty good. Nice last few minutes of action.
Pretty surprised Piper will be inducted in the WWE HOF. He was on bad terms with the WWE, last time I checked.
I bet the Christy Hemme Playboy doesn't sell that many as the Torrie Playboys. A sign of the times. I'm also getting the sickening feeling that Christy Hemme will be Women's Champ soon. :(
Very good promo by Edge. Once again his promos are getting better and better. If Batista wasn't on RAW, I'd root for him to be World Champ.
Trip's beard is uh, very odd now. I guess Steph gets turned on by beards. :p
Main event was alright. Ending was pretty awesome. Smackdown should be good, if Batista's coming. And they're doing a great job with the tension or lack of between HHH and Batista.
Good RAW, though it had lots of filler.

A Great RAW
Orton/Christian : Great match. I hope the feud doesn't end there. Wrestlemania might be a nice place to settle down.
Edge as a heel = GOLD. Very soon my friend, you'll taste the WHC.
Have you seen the new Criple H's beard? UGLY YEUK
If Christy becomes the Woman's Champ, the WWE has a problem.
HBK should be at No Way Out to screw Kurt Angle. The feud HBK/Angle should continue after Wrestlemania. There's a draft very soon.
Great RAW. I think RAW is the best it's been in a few years.
Randy Orton and Christian was great to watch. Orton is quite the entertainer, great finish to the match. R..K..O
I'm glad to see the Divas on RAW used efficiently. Stacy chatting it up with Randy, Maria chatting it up with Batista, Candice Michelle with Jericho, and Christy and Trish going at it. I've been waiting to see Christy get into some action, since she's quite athletic, and I'm glad that it looks like they're finally putting her in a program, should be a nice change of pace. Also I'll definitely be purchasing that issue of Playboy when Christy graces it next month, and I hope sales are well so WWE can continue their great relationship with the magazine. Besides Christy is quite the fiery redhead. :p
I must say that the only down part of RAW had to be Simon, they need to find this guy a new gimmick, because i keep finding his segments to be dreadfully boring. If he can't I'd put him with Tomko in guys RAW won't need. I'm just hoping WWE is using this time off with Eugene to rework his character.
I heard about the ending, and man it had me laughing. Classic RAW ending, it's like we're back in the day. Great stuff, I'd wished I'd seen it myself. Very entertaining RAW.

I'm sorry, but I really, really, really cannot stand Christy Hemme. Yes, she really is a different kind of WWE diva compared to the "T and A" Tammy Sytch clones we have seen in the last ten years, but I want to see a diva who can actually, you know, wrestle. If I really want to see a fairly attactive, hyperactive, obnoxious chick that will do anything to get on camera, I'll go rent "Girls Gone Wild" or watch any garden-variety reality show. When I turn on wrestling, I want to see at least at attempt to wrestle. I say either make her a valet or get her off the damn show and hire (or re-hire, as the case may be) Gail Kim, Jazz, LuFisto, and maybe even Trinity from TNA instead.

Your in luck cause Playboy and WWE are going to do a special all Diva issues somewhere down the road with all the Divas appearing even though only Torrie, Victoria, Lita and one or two others appear in the buff. The other's are going to be dressed just like they would if they were in Maxim.

Im sad that we wont get a naked Molly Holly :( Oh well.
Great RAW. The Roddy Piper announcement surprised the hell out of me. There r so many political and business implications to this i can barely get my head around them all. Last i hear, Piper was hardly on good terms with the WWE, how did this get worked out? Where does this leave his place in TNA? Is the WWE still trying to get Hogan? If they get Hogan, how will Piper feel having to play second fiddle to him at the induction ceremony? Will the WWE even trust him with his induction speech? Am i the only one who sees him breaking out into an insane rant on how the entire WWE locker room r drug addicts and then start promoting TNA's next PPV?
But another thing i just realized. Piper, Orton and Orndorff r all being inducted this year. The WWE apparently wants Hogan there too. Snuka is already in the HoF and will probably be at the ceremony. All the WWE needs is to get Mr. T and they can recreate the main event for WM1.

I think that rumor became the Christy Hemme in Playboy rumor. Nothing more to it.
So far it's only Christy in the buff (bagwell).

I finally have some free time, so I can comment on this week's RAW, which I thought was a pretty good show. I like how they've been having more matches on the show lately. This week there was one great match, one good match, and four other matches that were just kind of there. Things could be interesting next week with the contract signing. I hope Batista finally makes the full face turn, because they've just about milked everything they can out of the current storyline.
The beginning of the Highlight Reel was incredibly lame. I don't care for any of the Diva Search girls, but I especially don't like them when I'm forced to watch bad commercials because of them. Things were able to pick up when Hassan and Davari came out. I thought the match between Hassan and Jericho put on a pretty good match. Nothing good in it really stood out, but nothing bad did either.
Piper getting inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame caught me off guard. He definitely deserves to be in it, but I wasn't expecting it just because of the backstage politics.
Shelton Benjamin versus Gene Snitsky was an awful match. It started out okay, but then Snitsky took control and everything went downhill. I hated the ending since it means we might have to see this match again. I don't want to see Snitsky near any of the titles.
Regal and Tajiri versus La Résistance was okay, but it's only a tag match so it doesn't really matter. I wonder if they'll have another tag team challenge the champions or if they'll just forget about them and bring La Résistance back out in a month.
The match between Randy Orton and Christian was great. The crowd was extremely hot and the finishing segment was great. I'm no fan of Orton, but he looked better in this match than he has in months. I don't know if it was the opponent, the crowd, or something else, but something just seemed to click for him Monday night.
Hey, there's still a Women's Champion. Who knew?
Kane versus Simon Dean was just a lame squash. They now need to get rid of the stupid Simon Dean gimmick and find a way to turn Kane back into a monster heel.
The main event match between Batista and Edge was pretty lousy. They didn't seem to have much chemistry in the ring and in the end I thought Edge looked pretty weak. That's not good considering he's the number two heel on the show and just last week he had a World Heavyweight Championship title shot.
The ending segment with the limo was pretty well executed, but I still didn't like it. They've simply used these hit and run angles too much in the past.
