alot of people seem to dislike this series(I just enjoy it for the fight scenes and cool designs). how would you fix the show?

As with anything that suffers creatively, I would say the following:
Focus on the characters and their emotions and motivations, rather than quips and action sequences. Real depth will always make any piece of writing more entertaining and rewarding than awesome action sequences.

I think a few song and dance numbers could do wonders for the show. I'd settle for nothing less than Andrew Loyd Webber writing the lyrics and Clancy Brown as Mr. Freeze getting his own song.

Am I the only person that doesn't even like the fight scenes? Okay, I only saw one ep, the one with Catwoman. But just going on that they seemed kind of lame, the choreography was fairly complex but none of the hits had any impact.

I have REALLY wanted to like this show... But not one episode has been very good. Few have come anywhere near close.
How to fix it? The dialogue and writing are god awful. The plot holes, you could drives semi trucks through. Start there.
I like the art style. Although, Bruce could use some tweaking. Something about him just isn't right.
I love the idea of a young Batman cartoon - having Bats just starting out. The idea itself has amazing potential. It's just amazingly screwed up here.
I guess, to sum up.. Do pretty much the opposite of what this show has done. That should hit the mark.

All of the writing hasn't been very good up until "Rubberface of Comedy". But the character designs are actually what really bothers me.
Joker - 3 words. Get some shoes.
Penguin - This design is actually pretty good.
Batman/Bruce Wayne - This is one of my least favorite and it's also the one I have to see in every episode. Basically my biggest problem with the design is the head. The ears are much too short for my taste and I hate the eyes. Whenever I compare the eyes of the Batman's eye design against BTAS' eye design I shudder. Batman is supposed to be intimidating and I just don't believe him to intimidating with those eyes. BTAS' design has the kind of serious angry he look he should have all the time. But the Batman's eyes look like as if he's surprised all the time. It's like he's thinking, wow I'm really doing this, I'm really the Batman. His eyes are just so wide open and I just can't see him driving fear into the eyes of Gotham's criminals unless some tweaks are made.

The writing is the main problem. Even when they try to tell a serious story that kinda sorta almost feels like a Batman story, the writing just isn't there.
The recent finale is a perfect example of this - all the dramatic scenes fall flat - I didn't feel for any of the characters, and all the important scenes seemed very rushed for some reason. The drama was forced at the viewer without being given a chance to develop. I'd have more fun watching reality TV  At least that garbage isn't crapping on the world's most serialised fictional character.
Also, the voices need a lot of work, the animation is too cartoony, the character designs are often lifeless and dull, the yellow emblem on Batman's costume is a pointless step backwards, Bruce needs to stop pretending he's Spider-Man, pretty much all the new supporting characters need to be replaced (don't these people read Gotham Central? All fresh characters ripe for the animating) and every single hack of a writer needs to be fired. Hire some comic book writers like JLU has done - you know, people who actually want to be writing for animation and aren't looking at it as a stepping stone on the way to Will and Grace

Focus on what makes Batman Batman. Play up the obsession with fighting crime and make it a genuine obstacle to his happiness rather than just a constant need to rewrite his day-planner.
Make the villians more realistic. Bane should not be as strong as Superman, no matter what drugs he's taking. The Joker using a gun that turns people into giant playing cards? This is the kind of ability one might expect from a fantastic character like Firestorm or Zatanna, not a homicidal maniac with a little talent for psychopharmacology.
Play up Batman's talent as the World's Greatest Detective, and stop having him solve his problems by simply inventing the Bat-Gadget-Of-The-Week (which is never seen again afterwards).
Commissioner Gordon, anyone? Even if he's just Detective Inspector Gordon or something. He's a much more interesting character than the "token minority cops" we've seen.

Gordon isn't part of Batman's early years, iirc. I'm guessing he's a post-season 1 character.
I say they go all-out with the silliness on this show. It doesn't make a lcik of sense but it's fun. So, by all means, bring on the male Harley!

What's the word on season 2? Will there be a season 2? How are the ratings?
I think The Batman has done exactly what it set out to do. Action, gadgets, and not a lot of thinking required. I think it could use improvement but I have still enjoyed watching it.
How I would improve it:
Have Batman fight some regular foes. The crazy-villain-of-the-week was tired after week two.
Have Batman use a few more detective skills. Actually have a mystery with more than one very obvious suspect.
Have the police get on his [expletive-deleted] a little more. Or a lot more. This Batman is still very inexperienced so make him sweat it a little more. Make the police a very real threat to his operation.
Have Bruce's cop friend find out who he is then get angry because Bruce has been lying to him all this time. Of course, you'd have to kill him off after this but it would be a big turning point in Bruce's attitude.
Show Bruce getting po'ed when things don't go right.
Mix up the basic plot formula. They basically use "fight and lose" then "fight again and win". Have the bad guys win once and a while -- again, this Batman is still inexperienced.
Some better car chases. This is probably the worst action element in the show. Scratch some paint on that sucker already!

What are you talking about? Gordon is the STAR of Batman: Year One. And even pre-crisis, he was the only supporting character to appear in 'Tec #27.
I really don't like anything about the show, but the main thing that bothers me are the character designs. (especially Joker's...)
I don't see what's so great about the action sequences. The idea of the Penguin being able to hold his own against Batman is completely ridiculous. I honestly thought that was one of the dumbest animated fights I'd ever seen.

Cancel it, Burn the tapes, and put the ashes of said tapes on a rocket ship, sending it to space, and blowing the ship up. Nothing can make this show any better. When bruce starts looking like Jackie Chan (and thats personally why I think JCA isnt on Kids WB at the Moment, I mean c'mon, they look so alike they wear the same clothes) its time to shut it down:shrug:

And like I said, Gordon has ALWAYS been part of the Batman mythos since the start. No need to diss comic books just because you were wrong :p
