View Full Version : who here thinks "metdown" would have made a better movie than an episode?

It has so much crammed into those 20 minutes...yet so much more could have been done with it in my opinion

I agree. I hated Meltdown because I feel that they didn't do much justice to Mr. Freeze. I mean, they had a scene in a cemetery (after he was "cured")--you'd expect him to go to Nora's grave and lament that he's cured but she's dead; but no, the best they could do was have him go see where his head was buried. And when he disappeared into the night and people were trying to track him down, nobody thought to check out the remains of Oceania (Freeze had his own contained atmosphere in his armor)? The whole affair, which could have been a touching episode that tied up Mr. Freeze saga, was a disgusting mess.

The whole episode was just an excuse to show how tough the Blight was (I'll admit that Mr. Freeze's new armor was cool).

Meltdown wasn't too bad, but there WAS a heck of a lot crammed into such a small timespace. A movie would have been much better.

Personally, Meltdown was one of my favorite BB episodes. But I do think it could have been handled better in a longer format.

Maybe you'd expect Freeze to do that, but I didn't. Made sense to me to go check out where you're head was buried - I'd go do it. I mean, initially, you're gonna be in some state of shock - you've been locked in a room as a frozen head for how many years, then suddenly you're back in a "normal" body. I don't think you'd necessarily be thinking that straight. On top of that, I sort of imagine that after being locked as a head in a closet for so long, yo'd have had a lot of time to reflect and possibly let go of that part of your past.

I think it would have made a better two-parter myself.

on a semi-related note, i think "old wounds" would have been better as a two-parter also. it seems there was so much left unsaid. and considering it is a monumental event that robin left batman, they should have handled it more detail.

Add "Out of the Past" to that list of "Episodes that needed to be longer". There was so much more they could've covered there. I still think a flashback to the "near apocalypse of '09 would've been cool to see...

Yeah, I was hoping at the end of "Out of the Past", Bruce would have gone on a couple nights with Terry.

Of course, we all know that HE would want to wear the newer suit. :D

I don't see what more they could've fit into it...anymore and you it could've lost your attention..

meltdown is one of my fave eps, and I don't see it as being handled any other way than being 20minutes..

Its a great episode but I agree a larger character study of Freeze would have made it spectacular. Didn't need any more action, but character interaction would have been nice. Especially between Bruce and Victor Fries.
