There are a few different animated titles coming out this week, most notably Dreamworks' Shark Tale. Other animated DVDs include Aloha, Scooby Doo!, a deluxe collectors edition of Roger Ramjet, and Yogi the Easter Bear.

Aside from Shark Tale, other recent theatrical releases making their way to DVD include Bright Young Things, Eulogy, The Notebook, P.S., and Zelary.

A lot of this week's catalog titles seem to follow a couple of different themes. Boxing is the biggest one, with both the original and the remake of Body and Soul, a one-disc and two-disc special edition of Raging Bull, a batch of Rocky re-releases, and Rocky Marciano. Godzilla vs. Mechagodzilla II and Godzilla vs. the Sea Monster are also coming out, along with rated and unrated versions of The Life and Malcolm X. If you want to get more Scorsese aside from just Raging Bull, a Martin Scorsese film collection is coming out as well, along with an individual release of New York, New York. A Barbra Streisand box set is also hitting stores this week.

As always, TV on DVD seems to take up more space than everything else. The first seasons of a bunch of different shows are coming out -- HBO's phenomenal Deadwood, The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air, Full House, The Greatest American Hero, The Jamie Foxx Show, Miami Vice, Murder One Murphy Brown, Night Court, and The Wayan Brothers. Other releases include the second seasons of 7th Heaven and Punky Brewster, the sixth season of Highlander, and a Mad About You collection. You can also look forward to a few made-for-TV movies and mini-series: The Grid, Five People You Meet in Heaven, and A Separate Peace.

For a list of some of the best prices as well as the latest price drops for existing titles, check Mike Frezon's weekly thread on the Home Theater Forum (http://www.hometheaterforum.com/htforum/showthread.php?s=&threadid=225401) and SalesCircular.com (http://www.salescircular.com/). A relatively comprehensive list of this week's releases can be found at DVD Talk (http://www.dvdtalk.com/reviews/bargain.php) and ComingSoon.net (http://www.comingsoon.net/dvd/).

So -- what are you getting this week? Although quite a bit of stuff is coming out, I think I'm taking this week off...

I spent more getting these DVDs than I usually would, but I got them off Amazon, so it was cheaper than in stores. Plus, I had been planning to get some of these for over a year. I'm so glad I finally own them.

Spirit: Stallion of the Cimarron (Widescreen)
Batman Beyond: Return of the Joker (Original Uncut Version)
Batman: The Animated Series - Volume 2
Superman: The Animated Series - Volume 1
The Complete Superman Collection (Fleisher cartoons)

So far I've watched Batman Beyond ROTJ, Spirit, and a couple Fleisher Superman cartoons. I've been looking for Spirit in stores forever and I haven't been to one store that has a Widescreen version. I think that's horrible, but I've got my Widescreen version so who cares?

This week I picked up The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen. I'm not a big fan of the movie but I found it at my comic store shrinkwrapped together with two hardcover collections of the comics the movie was based on so I had to jump at the chance.

Hey Samurai Matt, how did you like Help I'm A Fish, I got a surprise to see someone mention it here!I loved it, the charcters were well done, the animation was wonderful and the storyline was great too. It was an truly exellent movie, I cant belive its RRP was only £6 and that it was never released in the states.

I loved the song at the end "I'm a little *yellow* fish in the deep *blue* seeeaaaa, oh wont somebody resscuuee meeeee"

Also, I see your loction is Denmark, were the film came from. Was the film more popular over there?

The Adventures of Prince AchmedWow, I was really surprised to see this. When I was researching for my English project I came across this on winxopedia. It was the 2nd animated feature movie.

What was it like? What was it about? Is it it worth purchasing

W:eek:W that was a shock

W:eek:W that was a shock Well, if it was the second is debatable, because the "Apostle" was 60 minutes, but there is no print of the film to prove it.

Anyway, it was interesting. It's completely done in silhouette animation, a lot of the puppets/background designs are well crafted. The puppets have a lot of articulation and the actions can be read pretty well.

The story is typical fairy tale/myth stuff, it starts off with a wizard who tires to kill Achmed by tricking him to ride on a horse that continues to fly high into the sky. After Achmed figures out to make the horse descend he starts a series of adventures. Eventually, Aladdin, a witch and Achmed finally manage to beat the wizard and his demons.

It's only worth getting if you like the visuals, otherwise it might bore you to tears.

I did quite a bit of damage to my wallet this week. :D First off, I picked up Superman: The Animated Series, Volume One at Future Shop on Tuesday.

The real damage came on Thursday. The comic book shop that I get most of my anime DVDs from is having a members-only 50% sale and last Thursday was "Anime Day". I used the opportunity to pick up the complete Prétear series (box set with all four discs) and to get Full Metal Panic: Mission 07.
