Why is it that Desparate Housewives, a drama, gets nominated (and wins!) in the best TV comedy ensemble category? It's almost like when people call a bad drama (say, Tru Calling or Passions) the funniest show on television... Okay, tongue-in-cheek, but still...

There's humor in Desperate Housewives. But from what I've seen I wouldn't call it a comedy. They probably just wanted to nominate a very popular show to cash in.

For the record: I have never watched the show, I've only seen it. If you have fewer than two sisters and one mother and don't spend significant time with them, then shut up.

I paid more attention to the Film division, and based on the results:

Prospective Oscar winners: Jamie Foxx (Best Actor), Morgan Freeman (Best Supporting Actor), Cate Blanchett (Best Supporting Actress)
Won't win Oscar: Hilary Swank. It'll be a reverse of 1999/2000 awards. Annette Bening will win Best Actress this time.

Foxx's acceptance speech is hilarious. Swank's is repetitive and tired.

We were going to watch them, but after seeing Team America, my entire suite couldn't watch the show with a straight face.

Am glad to hear Foxx won for best actor. Still want Depp to get the Oscar, though. (was he even nominated? man, I'm so behind...)

How did Lost and Desperate Housewives do? It would be funny if the network's sudden revival really cashed in for them.

It was boring and I finally got to see Thomas Haden Church's girlfriend (and let me say... woof. He doesn't have the best taste for such a handsome guy, IMHO).
