Hey,

Did anyone else notice the following in "In Blackest Night"?

-Most of the GL Core members shown were also shown in "In Brightest Day", exactly as they were.
-Did you see these two aliens in the stands during the trial? (1) One of those aliens whose ship Brianiac takes over at the end of "Last Son of Krypton", Part III; (2) one of those aliens like one of the ones who was in the gang who tried to kill Lobo in "The Main Man", Parts I & II (the hairy one).
-A large chunk of our Galaxy is very integrated, with species intermingling Star Trek and Star Wars style. But for some reason, Earth seems to be a planet that everyone else tends to leave alone. Why is this?

Because Earth is filled with people like Superman...Batman...GL...and other people that don't like being messed with...

Based on several episodes of Superman, Batman Beyond, and the Justice League; I'd say that we have our fair share of being messed with.

And what happened, eventually, to those "messers"??

THAT is why most aliens keep away.

( that, and the fact that we haven't REALLY became a spacefaring race, yet. The tech is their, but it isn't widespread enough ).

But other planets also have Green Lanterns. And I can't believe other planets that have Green Lanterns don't have other superheroes?

No. Just Green Lanterns. Lol...

Well...I'm sure that some planets have a protector like Adam Strange, and maybe a few heroes...but I think Earth has the biggest concentration of them, and the best...

Hmmm. I guess that Earth just got lucky. We have a lot of more powerful aliens (Superman, Martian Manhunter, Hawkgirl) willing to defend Earth, even though it's not their home planet, and they're not even human!!!

Then again, maybe we're not involved in any of the galactic-scale stuff just because Earth is geographically at the edge of one of the Milky Way Galaxy's wings... you know, a bit too far from the action and a bit out of the way for most aliens and their spaceships. Anyone agree with this theory?

P.S. -- Did you ever wonder what Batman, Aquaman, and Flash were doing during "Apokolips Now!" and "Legacy"???

Good point. I wonder what those guys were doing during those storylines.

How about "Where were Dr.Fate, Steel, Nightwing, Supergirl, and Robin during Secret Origins?"

Oh, and I swear I saw the wrong version of In Blackest Night. I know from JLofA 140 that BATMAN solved the illusion riddle.

What was the point of making a League of 7 members when they don't all appear in every episode (I know, "to showcase the others", but I kept hoping they would "call in" Batman in Part II)

I've got a feeling that Batman has NO desire to leave Earth. I think that anytime a storyline takes place on any other planet other than Earth, Batman (and most likely Wonder Woman too) will NOT be involved.

I'm not sure I'd like to see Batman anywhere other than Earth. Talk about a fish out of water!

Batman likes to be in control. And, if he were on an alien world surrounded by more powerful beings (and no access to his Bat-gadgets or Bat-vehicles or the Batcave on Earth, mind you), I don't think he'd be in a position to control anything.

Besides, Batman's no dummy: he know's that, compared to the others, he is, as Brainiac said, "only Human", so he'd probably get toasted out there anyway...

In "The Call" Bruce mentions that Superman went rogue once, while he was retreaving the kryptonite shard, a comment most likely refering to "Legacy". Maybe Batman was about to get called in to finish the job, believe that Superman had truly turned in the planet  The world may never know....

Actually I sincerely doubt that Batman had the kryptonite quickly after Superman went bads in the events of legacy.

"This isn' t the first time Superman's gone rogue. So I made sure I would be ready if it ever happened again. I always hoped I wouldn't have to use it." This might not be the exact quote but its close. Its definitely implied that Batman didn't get the kryptonite during Legacy but afterward just in case Superman was ever a problem again.

Okay, I didn't pay close enough attention to it. I thought Bruce might have been asked to take Supes down... and he could, but that's another thread entirely :p

Batman couldn't take down Superman, left to his own devices.

I knew I'd get some attention with that remark :p Like it's been said before, given the right amount of time, I think Batman could take almost anyone down... but it's all opinionated, really...

He can, and already did... well kind of.
