I remember this episode, it's one of two that I remember (since it's been so long). Wasn't Johnny in love with some girl named Krystal, that was also an inhuman?---all I know for sure was that this character was voiced by Kathy Ireland. There was also an appearance by Hydro-Man at one point. Man, I hope the DVDs for this show are released soon, so I can refresh my memory.

It was Hydro-Man. Different voice from Spidey TAS however.

Similar design. Not as interesting a character. Fortunatly, he wasn't a clone. :D

Not too sure about the Inhumans, but the Fantastic Four are just average humans who were transformed by an accident.

Im not sure if this was changed for the cartoon, but in the comics i believe the Inhumans were the remnants of an ancient alien (Kree?) experiment to genetically alter humans.

It was the same in the cartoon, The Seeker explained it in the third part of the Inhuman Saga.

I loved this three-parter. Fantastic Four, season 2 anyway, remains one of my favorite cartoons of all time. Inhumans Saga set up the season pretty well, especially in terms of Johnny's character. Plus we got to see it resolved at the end of the season. I liked the Frightful Four, Wizard was a cool villain.

Where can I get information about the DVDs? Are they releasing Iron Man too?

Nngh. Hate to play the comparison game, but one thing the DCAU has over Marvel is, how you say, trusting the audience. Thing soliloquizing in the rain was pushing it already, but it got some stuff through that wouldn't have been too obvious otherwise. That was just the tip of the iceberg, though - throughout the whole thing, there were so many characters I just wanted to shut up. I wrote a slightly more naturalistic conversation between Human Torch and Medusa in my head as they talked. That shouldn't be possible.

Speaking of Torch... a disk that drains the oxygen from the immediate air? Um, a bit implausible, but okay, whatever. ... It missed you? Good for you, Torch. ... Uh, why are you going out anyway? ... And now you're falling uncontrollably? Shouldn't there be more oxygen around you? ... Oh, hey, power lines. What do power lines have to do with jump-starting your flame? Et cetera.

Point to Doom, by the way (I look forward to seeing him again...). He has an indisputable advantage not just in good writing, but in not having an outrageously busy costume. I see that now.

One step forward, two back. Temptation... to watch Mask of Doom... too... powerful... must... voice... every thought... that goes through my mind...

Cheese... good... Doom... cool... must... get hard evidence... of edits... and complain... to BBB... but first... must seek refuge... on Ego...

The original line-up of The Frightful Four (which this story is based on), consisted of Wizard, Medusa, Trapster and the Sandman! Incidentally, that particular line-up of the team did once appear in animation, in an episode of the 1978 New Fantastic Four series unsurprisingly entitled "The Frightful Four".
