It's official: King of the Hill is better at parodying the Patriot Act and the government in general than The Simpsons currently is. This episode was FAR better than the subpar "Bart Mangled Banner".

The basic plot is that Dale discovers that the government was telling the truth about the Kennedy assassination and he does a complete 180, loving America unabashedly. Meanwhile Hank is teased incessantly because the DMV made an error in his driver's license that says he is a Female. Both of these plots mend together nicely, with plenty of jokes about governmental red tape along the way. I lost it when Dale accuses Hank of being Unamerican when he removes a painted American flag from his shingles, even though Dale forced it on him. GRADE: A

Line of the night: Bobby: "Dad, if it's true that you ARE a woman, that means you and mom are lesbians."
Hank: "No more TV!"

It really is amazing that King of the Hill can actually maintain a strong sense of quality like this. I enjoyed this and the satire it presented about bureaucracy.

I agree, this was incredibly good, and it had one of the best Dale moments ever: "But that means...the government...was...RIIIIIIGHT!!!" LMAO...:D

The only thing saving this from greatness was that they had that horrible Alan Jackson song. I know they were making fun of it but still.

I can't believe Peggy was funny tonight. One annoying moment ("I am told I am a lipstick lesbian--which is apparantly the best kind") but other than that she was actually likable.

Dale reading Joseph the Warren report as a bedtime story was creepy and wrong on so many levels.

I really liked this episode. I agree The Simpsons can't do political episodes well anymore. I still think last night's Simpsons was better though. ****.

This show has easily surpassed The Simpsons in terms of quality. The episode was excellent! I wonder if they will keep Dale as the pro-America nut of he'll be back to his conspiracy ways by next week. I thought they did an excellent job pkewering the current political climate in America. I'm amazed this show has remained so strong after all these years.

This was my favorite show of the evening....Dale never ceases to amuse, whether he's an America-hating conspiracy nut or a super-patriot(though I can't help but wonder if he'll be back to normal next week)...and the sub-plot of Hank trying to get his driver's licence corrected was funny...A+

See how much enjoyable things are when you give Peggy a chance?

This episode was hilarious! Dale gets all the best lines. Poor guy, can't find the middle ground, can he?

You're right, Boris, this was much better than that Simpsons episode. It was even better than "Hank's Dirty Laundry" (although that was about a local video store, still kinda the same concept).

Unless there was an Alan Jackson song in this that I missed, the song you're speaking of is by Lee Greenwood.
