what the!!!!blood on 4kids

so i was watching 4 kids tv. on saturday morning to see how much they had cut up the anime one piece and at the end of the ep. when they had a preview for the upcoming episode they showed a guy with blood coming out of his noise and mouth and forehead and looked like eyes. Now they didnt even show blood on kenshin when it was on toonami so whats up with this.
-note this was on an episode where they showed a guy named zolo and how he learned to hold one than two than three swords and at the end of the ep. at the preview they showed this kickin guy and then a guy with blood in the above mentioned places on his head.

Yeah, I noticed it too, but then again Shaman King had blood in it also on it like edited episode 3 and Zeke as he called in the dub was once covered in blood but the blood wasn't red though. 4shame is slipping man.

They have an unedited version, and they do the censorships the week before it airs (or just before the week). That's why they keep showing unedited preveiws. (they've shown clips of scenes that were cut for time on preveiws before)

you could be right. ill have to watch the episode next week to find out. the worst part about it is whether or not 4kids is getting more uncensored toonami (which i used to have more respect for) seems to be getting more and more G rated.

(they've shown clips of scenes that were cut for time on preveiws before) With 4Kids probably knowing that the older fans (and true anime fans) will be wanting an uncut version (and making sure that one is ready so that way they don't have to go back and re-record the lines), I definitely see that that theory as possible.

Also, on your theory. If there really was an "unedited" version, do you think it would have all the stupid dialogue, music changes, etc.? We KNOW they have a dubbed We Are.

the only reason 4kids says they have to cut stuff out is to protect the childrens fragile mind, but if there gonna show unedited previews for the next episode then the image still went through. they might as well of not edited aything so people could see the real thing. whats the point of showing an anime that was succssesful in japan if there just going to take everything out that made people like it, AND THEN show random blood just to say hi we're 4kids we're not editing for the children sake we just want to upset you because we worship satan. :evil:

I don't see how 4kids can possibly dub an episode just a week before it airs. They have to have them being dubbed within months ahead of their debut on TV.

The blood in Episode 3 in Shaman King was negative-white, so that's why it wasn't red. It was the same way in the original version. I believe that since it was black-and-white it was OK.

So what if there was blood in the preview episode? It's going to get edited out by the time episode airs anyway...

If the blood gets retained in full in next week's episode, then I'll be impressed!

oh i highly doubt it will be there next ep. and i dont really care either if they have blood in a preview for an ep. but if there gonna show it then why cant they just show it in the episode and not in the preview. if u say ummmm kcuf backwards in a movie just once the rating goes up and its usally not a G rating. if ur gonna show blood once great but then why cut some of the other blood scenes out ur just gonna show it at the end anyway.

WS used to leave things in the preview all the time, but it'd be gone in the episode. Same with FUNi and DBZ.

It's one thing to talk about this in the One Piece talkback (which you shouldn't really given the forum's thoughts on speaking out about non-edits) but it's even worse to make a thread about it. It's basically saying "hey 4kids you didn't edit that, you'd better make sure to do that next time".

Though I am suprised by this as well. We'll see how it goes in the next episode.

They'd better get those uncut DVD's out stat. Because that's where future of this show is. Comparing this trite to the original is embarrasing and the edits and changes are just going to get worse from this point. Sure kids will most likely watch it but if they want to make some serious profit off of One Piece like FUNi did with DBZ, then they'll have to make sure they have the otaku's covered and with better releases than the ones Shaman King and YGO are getting.

i did it out of surprise. i dont think they should edit it out. i think they should make whole show like previews:)

having seen shaman king and one piece i was a bit more ticked off about shaman king which seemed to have taken a real kick in the pants by 4kids. I love how they remind u by putting there logo in the lower right corner during the entire show.

Yeah the new logo is awful... I could at least stand to look at the FoxBox logo.

But for the record... Kenshin has had blood on Toonami. Quite a bit at times. Just not nearly as much as the original.

But hey they could say it was soup on his face... 4kids is a crafty bunch.

As others have pointed out, talking about content that "slipped by" is against forum rules-- only discussion of edits that were made or content that was obviously consciously left in is permitted. Though I don't see why anyone would care about editing standards in a preview. :p
