Season 8 of Stargate SG-1 is here, and while it may not be the final ride for General Jack O'Neil, Colonel Samantha Carter, Dr. Daniel Jackson, and Teal'c, they will still have their hands full. Can they protect the Earth from the Gao'uld and the Replicators?

SGC-E (Stargate Command-Earth) is getting tired of waiting for Dr. Weir to contact them, so the Prometheus is sent off to find them. Commanding the operation is General George Hammond, with Daniel Jackson and Walter Harriman (aka the guy who announces when someone's coming in through the Stargate) as part of the crew. Will the group reach Atlantis safely, or is there going to be trouble along the way? Take a wild guess.

Catch the new season every Friday at 9PM EST on Sci-Fi Channel! If you miss it, it will encore at 11PM EST the same night.

Ugh, this one aired before Christmas here in the UK and I'd happily shoved it to the back of my mind. This episode kind of put me in mind of S7's Space Race ep in parts, felt predictable & little clumsy, plus I have some big issues with Claudia Black's 'blows hot blows cold I could jump any which way' character. The thought that she's possibly back for more in S9 doesn't make me feel any happier right now :p . It was good to see Hammmond again but for me this is one to avoid on the re-run.

I thought she was funny ha-ha. Daniel's facial expressions in reaction to her kept me laughing.

:) Chevron Guy gets screen time. Weee!!

:) Claudia Black and her sexiness.

:) "You are very attractive."

:) The return of General Hammond.

:) Hammond gets to play the hero.

 The hiccuping lady was confusing at first, became amusing, very funny, and then just got really really annoying... fast.

 The hit-me/kiss-me thing between Daniel and Aery-- uh, Vala was good at first, but I got tired of trying to figure out where she stood. For a full hour episode, it somehow felt like there wasn't enough time to really get to know Claudia's character.

I liked it well enough, even if the episode seems pointless right now (since Prometheus, of course, can't go one trip without being wrecked). I do hope Claudia shows up again in a reoccuring role.

Hopefully they'll work on adding security around ring transport. It was laughable how easily the Prometheus was taken, even if she was using a super-suit.

Well, it might have been better if they actually had more than 20 people onboard the ship. Considering how huge the thing supposedly is, they should have brought along at least 50-60 people, especially if they were expecting trouble on Atlantis.

SGC needs some giant robots. Seriously.

I loved this episode. Cladia Black was great. I read on Scifi.com that she will be back next season and that her and Ben Bowder will share screen time which should be pretty damn cool.

I am glad that they didnt try to merge Farscape into SG-1. Cause that was the feeling I got from the promos. On the other hand Hammond rocks. I still dont know how she could take over the entire ship by herself. I was really surprised that Dannyboy was the only one still on the ship. i would have thought someone else might have atleast been hiding on board. I think this makes the third or fourth time the Prometheus has been jacked. Note to Hammond, dont leave the keys in the ignition.

Claudia Black and she's raunchy! Teh win!

I fear that it will be extremely odd to have Ben Browder as part of the cast so soon after Farscape ended though. At least with RDA it was several years inbetween MacGyver and SG1 (with the short lived Legend somewhere in the middle). Also several years between QL and ST:Ent for Scott Bakula.

Then again, given the small pool of voice actors that handle scores of currently running cartoons and anime dubs, I should be used to that sort of thing by now.
