Who's your favorite character in the Garfield comic strip?

Binky actually doesn't appear all that frequently in the Garfield strip. He is much more closely associated with the Garfield cartoon series (still Garfield-related, I know, but...).

What about Al Swindle, the Buddy Bears, and Cactus Jake?

I voted for Garfield. I was wondering, what ever happened to Lyman? He was one of my favorites!

I like Garfield, he's probably the funniest of all of them. I really loved that strip prior to about two years ago when it really got, well, boring. You see, before, Odie, Nermal, Jon's family, Arlene, the vet, and others actually aqppeared, and Garfield actually DID something other than insult Jon. I think the Jon's-a-nerd jokes get old, and Jon never struck me as a nerd normally, he's just a straight man. Read some of the earlier books, Garfield actually did some serial strips that were very well-written, I love those. I also get tired of the spider strips...how much mileage can Davis GET out of that gag? Oh, and Lyman. I have a book called "20 years of Garfield", that explains that they just dropped him after a while. One funny comment in the book reads "don't look in Jon's basement!"

If I remember right... I don't think Jim Davis is working on Garfield any more. I think someone else is, and whoever this person is must not of liked the supporting cast. I miss my particular favorite supporting character... Nermal, the World's Cutest Kitten.

There's a whole bunch of people working on the strip, last I heard. Davis set up a company, they write and draw the strip, and handle designing all the Garfield merchandise.

I'm sort of tired of many of the older strips. It's seems that strips like Hi and Lois, Garfield, Beetle Bailey, etc. have become nothing but stages for one note gags. They never make serial strips anymore, and the characters never grow or change.
