When I heard that Batman's villains and supporting cast are not aloud to be on Justice League because of both The Batman cartoon and the Batman Begins movie I was very ticked off. How could they do that? I don't have any grudge against The Batman cartoon by any means. I watch it every week, but it's not fair for Bruce Timm to have HIS characters taken away from him. Bruce has been doing the Batman cartoon since 1992 and has made each Batman character his own. Their absence on Justice League is unforgivable. What's Justice League without awesome Batman villains like the Joker or Bane? What I don't understand is why Bruce Timm had these characters taken away from him after having them all this time. When the "Batman Returns" movie came out Penguin and Catwoman weren't taken away and were even partially designed from the movie. The fact they can't be used is absolutely rediculous.

But all is not lost. There are several awesome Batman characters that are not being used on The Batman cartoon, Teen Titans, or the new Batman Begins movie. These characters include Batgirl, Harley Quinn, Two Face, Poison Ivy, Mad Hatter, Harvey Bullock, Renee Montoya, Maxie Zues, Professor Milo, Rupert Thorne, Leslie Thompkins, etc. Why can't these characters be used? I know Mr. Timm is lurking around these boards and will hopefully respond and maybe use some of these characters in the future. Also, they could use characters that have not yet been used in the DCU like they did for KG Beast and Blockbuster in "Kid Stuff."

Since Harley is technically Timm's and Dini's baby, as they created her specifically for B:TAS, I sincerely doubt that the makers of The Batman - an essentially rival Batman Animated show - would want to use her in their cartoon, even though she's become an official part of the DC Universe in the comics. It'd be awkward. Plus, I just can't see Harley having an obsession with that bizarrely-designed version of the Joker that they use in The Batman. :ack: *knock wood*

It's not really a rival show; they'd both have to be on the air competing for air time to be "rivals." The way you say it means that Fleischer Superman and Superman: TAS were "rivals" as well.

I doubt Harley (who is technically just Dini's baby, since he's the one who created her in the episode ["Jokers Favor"] and is credited with wherever she's used) would show up in "The Batman." Though in a way I could see a twisted version of her meshing with Joker like the BTAS one does. Actually now I'm sorta intrigued to see her...

As for the "off limit" characters, that's due to the live-action stuff, not "The Batman"; the only ill-effect that show has thrown into the Timm-i-verse is the cancellation of "Batman Adventures." And that's still a sore subject for me...

Rival in the fact that fans of both shows are constantly comparing them to each other... And B:TAS almost ALWAYS comes out on top...:D
