OK with "You Ought To Be In Pictures" on again last night, I was wondering about some of the people who appear in the film.

I know that Leon stars as himself,
Michael Maltese is the security guard,
Gerry Chiniquy is the director,
and Henry Binder throws Porky off the soundstage,

BUT

Who is the animator drawing Porky at the beginning?
Who are the two men who shout QUIET! ?

...just call me curious... ;)

Among the people who come barreling out of the building in fast motion is a skinny blond guy who I think is Chuck Jones. BTW, that shot is from a gag reel the WB animation Dept. put together around that time. I have a PD cartoon collection (from Bosko Video maybe? I forget) which intersperses the cartoons with that and other segments.

OK, let me try this one more time, this time with a handy-dandy visual aid...

So, can anyone identify any of these three men?

BTW, I also included the Chuck Jones shot Paul mentioned.

Thanks!

#1 - Fred Jones is the name of the animator drawing Porky. Not related to Chuck, was married to an inker at the studio. Never got screen credit. Front facing photo of Fred Jones on page 72 of CHUCK AMUCK.

#2 - Henry Binder

#3 - Paul Marin - an animaton checker at Schlesinger, later an animation cameraman.

These identifications come from Martha Goldman-Sigall (who was an inker at Schlesinger at the time and knew all these people personally)

It's also to be noted that Fred Jones had worked at the Lantz studio with Tex Avery. He's in a group photo there with Tex, Cal Howard, Virgil Ross, Sid Sutherland and many others. After his move to Schlesinger-dom he was employed in Chuck's unit by 1940 (or thereabouts) ... For whatever it may be worth.

Thanks alot for the answers Jerry! :)

I had suspected #2 was Binder, but I had no idea about the other two.
