Dang, I really wish they'd show that cartoon. What's the big deal with Bugs calling an eskimo a "big baboon" anyway? It wasn't even a racial slur. It seems that as the years progress, more and more innocent cartoons are now being banned. I'm afraid to see what things will look like in about 5 years from now. But by then, we'll be lucky if CN even still shows classic cartoons.

Actually, that clip was from "8 Ball Bunny", the other Bugs Bunny and Playboy Penguin picture. Also, during the one bumper (the one with music from "Porky's Preview") they show a clip of Bugs using his tail like a motor from "A Feather in His Hare"! They're also constantly showing the Lincoln scene from "Southern Fried Rabbit"!
WHY MUST YOU TEASE US LIKE THIS, CN?!!!!!

Nope, it really was from Frigid Hare

I don't know if Bugs calling the Inuit a "big baboon" could be considered a slur but there is a scene near the end of the cartoon where he refers to the same Inuit as an "Eskimo pie-head". CN/TW may have been a *little* concerned about that. I, for one, never heard that line in that cartoon when I first saw it on "Merrie Melodies" as it was edited out for obvious reasons. I first heard Bugs say it when I saw the cartoon again on TBS (in uncut form, natch).
Perhaps they made the bumpers before WB forced them to pull those 11 cartoons, either that or they are mocking us, or they are saying, "well, if we can't show them, lets use as much of the material as possible in the bumpers"

I doubt they are teasing us, really. I imagine that when they put the bumper material and information together (some of which has some errors, whoever heard of "Bowery Dogs", one of two Bugs films by Arthur Davis?!) they were planning to show these films. The lincoln scene, you never know. I doubt they will have it uncut. What gets me is that they are playing several time-compressed prints of stuff they can easily request to be un-compressed. At least they kept that great "High Diving Hare" print, and the prints of the ABC films appear to be unharmed, except for "Hare-Splitter".

"Bowery Dogs"?! That was a big mistake...:p Also, for anyone who's wondering, the other cartoon they were referring to was "The Goofy Gophers", in which Bugs makes a cameo.

That's so strange, because 8 Ball Bunny has a scene that looks more racy than that. But I'm glad that one played. "HOBOKEN?! OOH, I'M DYIN'!" is a popular catch phrase in NY area transit fan clubs
