Hi:

Is it possiblke that a Looney Tune might be re-issued as a Merrie Melody?

The cartoon in question is Duck Soup to Nuts , which shows as a LT in Beck & Freidwald's book, and on Dave Mackey's site. However, I have an mpg that has a merrie Melodies open on it... it is an AAP open.

I had never heard of a cartoon "switching" before.... is this possible? Normal for AAP? Possibly just edited wrong???

thanks!

Warner Brothers reissued cartoons as "Blue Ribbon Merrie Melodies" (these are the cartoons with the Blue Ribbon and Statue on the title card). When a Looney tune was reissued, it was changed to a Merrie Melodie.

So I guess you could say there were three series with "special" opening:

Looney Tunes
Merrie Melodies
Blue Ribbon Merrie Melodies

AAP had nothing to do with this.

Whenever Dave's site lists something as an "LT," but it has a Blue Ribbon number listed after it, then that means it was changed to a Merrie Melodie for re-release.
