São Paulo - SP, Brazil, January 17, 2005 (Today's the Martin Luther King's day!).

Hello, friends from Toon Zone, Yesterdaylanders, Memory Laners and HB-fans from the whole world (and a special hello to Joseph & Jayne Barbera, Iwao Takamoto, David Kirschner, Buzz Potmakin, Fred Seibert, Robert Alvarez, Ed Benedict, Jerry Eisenberg, Bob Singer and all that people from Hanna-Barbera/Cartoon Network)!

Do you remember of a Bobby's World (co-produced by Alevy Productions/Film Roman/20th Century-Fox, between 1990 and 1997) episode, which has a Yogi Bear take-off, where Bobby dreamed who was Boo Boo, and his uncle Ted was Yogi Bear? I watched this episode, years ago, on the now-defunct Fox Kids.
Very well. In this Bobby's dream, Uncle Ted/Yogi and Bobby/Boo Boo were seeking for food and then, they found a table full of sandwiches, potato chips, Coca-Cola and desserts. But Bobby/Boo Boo warned Uncled Ted/Yogi:
"But the Ranger won't like of this!"
When Uncle Ted/Yogi was placing against the food, he was surprised by the Ranger's dog (whose snickering reminds Muttley, Mumbly and Precious [all of them voiced by Don Messick]). And when the Ranger appeared to warn Uncle Ted/Yogi and Bobby/Boo Boo, he looked like Ranger Smith, Ranger Rubydoux, Mr. Slate (the Fred's boss, in The Flintstones) and Mr. Cogswell (the Mr. Spacely's rival, in The Jetsons).
And John Tesh (who composed the music score for Bobby's World) made a music score identical to the John Seely's score, which was very used on first Yogi Bear episodes (more exactly in the 1958-60 period [when Yogi Bear was one of the sequences from The Huckleberry Hound Show]).
Imagine if Joseph Barbera saw this Yogi Bear take-off in this Bobby's World episode. Which would be his reaction?
Please, send your answers to this forum. I'll be grateful.
Well, that's it!
Ciao!

Cheers from this faithful friend who always writes 4 U,

I remember that scene vividly. It was Teddy Bear and Bobbo.

Good times. :)

That episode was full of parodies; I wish I had it on tape. I also remember them parodying Dudley Do-Right and Peanuts("You're A Real Dork, Bobby G!"). What else did they do?

And John Tesh did the background score for Bobby's World? I thought he was still on Entertainment Tonight at that point.

I have that ep. on tape. Did Don Messick do voices in that part?

São Paulo - SP, Brazil, October 13, 2005 (Yesterday was the day from the discovering of America and from Our Lady [St. Mary]. Let's continue praying for the victims from the earthquake in Pakistan).

Hello, John Pannozzi, Martian Invader and all those HB-fans from the whole world!

Do you remember of an episode from The Simpsons, where Homer had a dream where he was Yogi Bear, Bart was Boo Boo and Ned Flanders was Ranger Smith?
This episode is titled When You Dish Upon a Star. And here are the scenes:

I didn't watch this episode, but it seems being interesting. Alias, The Simpsons pays a tribute for various Hanna-Barbera characters as: The Flintstones, The Jetsons, Yogi Bear, Huckleberry Hound and many more.
Imagine if Joseph Barbera saw these episodes from The Simpsons which pays tributes for various HB characters. Which would be his reaction beyond them?
Please, answer me. I'm dying of curiosity!
Well, that's it!
Bye-bye!

Only Mr. Barbera could say for certain, of course. But I suspect he'd be amused and flattered that, all these decades later, his cartoons were still considered worth satirizing.

What else did they do?There was also a parody of Popeye. Weren't there also parodies of some live-action shows (Murphy Brown, Coneheads) or was that another episode?

The first ep of Ren and Stimpy (well, the first AIRED ep) "stimpys big day" had a scene where muddy mudskipper (dressed as ranger smith) chased after stimpy (dressed to resemble yogi IIRC) while stimpy yelled out a bunch of cartoon catchphrases.

There will be a Flintstones parody (as well as a Warner Bros. parody) on the season premiere of Drawn Together. It airs this coming Wednesday at 10:30 pm (after the premiere of South Park) on Comedy Central.
