He's tried to escape it. He's tried to silence it. But for Jack Bauer... instinct never dies.

Let's see how Jack deals with the border patrol...

Chloe was great in this episode. Another good character taken from the show and some unlikable characters remain in tact. Edgar seemed to align with Chloe's side and the side of the virtuous within CTU so he's good by me.

The suicide scene was fantastic, unexpected, and sudden.

Not a lot of Jack Bauer in this episode. Hellner and Audrey's plotline didn't advance too much. Another attempt, this time through suicide, to stop the trial. Didn't work again. Now two more attempts - President Keeler's and Jack's, we'll see which one is successful next episode.

RINGTONES. The ringtones almost compromised the terrorists. Luckily, the whipped Beroose came to the rescue. Beroose better turn eventually. How can he remain loyal to his parents when they are both terrorists, killed Debbie, and forced his hand like this?

Erin Driscoll had an uncharacteristic episode. Driscoll changes with every episodes. Her crazy daughter will have some bizarre impact on the ongoing proceedings no doubt.

There were a few real-time problems in this ep. How far did Jack drive away from that store, but they got his SUV to him in 3 minutes? The Araz family practically freezes for 15 minutes before reacting to the death of Behrooz's girlfriend. And seconds pass between Jack's call to Erin in her office and Erin telling Chloe to resign in Holding.

Plotwise, I liked how quickly Jack got out of that situation. For once the police actually call CTU at Jack's request. If only they did that for Kim in the first couple seasons. Keeler's "escape" idea was noble, but I'm surprised how quickly he convinced his daughter to go along with it. At first when she said "I can't" I thought she meant she didn't want to, but when she came up with her own idea, I thought perhaps she said it because she physically couldn't bring her arms up to choke him. A bit confusing and surprising.

I'm actually going to miss Chloe. She got some very nice parting shots at her co-workers. Wish that new guy wouldn't let Pseudo-Sherry push him around. I thought he was going to spill the beans to her, but no dice. Hopefully he'll develop a spine very soon.

I miss Palmer as the CiC. Keeler had one hell of a decision, but I could tell he'd go along with the missile strike. With Palmer, it was tought sometimes guessing which answer he'd give. Jack's got one hell of a job in the first mintues of the next episode. Can't wait.

I'm surprised Erin let Chloe off that easily and didn't even bother trying to make any big punishments like outright firing. Also, I am surprised the police believed in Jack so much.

It looks like Keeler doesn't have too much faith in rescue operations, but Heller doesn't look too confident. I do believe that he would be willing to sacrifice himself for his daughter, but I don't think she'd get off easily. After all, she is a witness.

Wow, the mom is so gullible.

I can't believe they fired Chloe. She is the best character on the show after Jack. I don't care about ANY of the other people at CTU although Edgar is growing on me.

So glad they didn't have the police hold Jack up. It's been done to death on this show.

Driscoll and her daughter are annoying. I hate to think how this will play out.

Belarus needs to grow a spine now. His father is a butthole and his mother is crazy. He's better switch sides.

I think it's going to come to a head next week, where Heller and Audrey are concerned. Jack is gettin' them out next week or he's not gettin' them out.

A good hour but I miss Chloe already. Am I the only one who thinks she's hot? ****.

Good episode, not as good as the first two hours but held it's own. And alright, I don't expect Behrooz to actually kill his own parents, but come on....why isn't he still pissed? His cute girlfriend was killed for nothing. Anger should still be warrented!

Now while Marianne is prurient, in a wierd way given her role/acts, damnit if she won't be causing some serious problems down the road. I wouldn't put it past her to be the reason for a character's death later in the season. Even if it's her own. Then Kalil, another death for nothing. And it's worse because it was a dumb ass suicide. He should have atleast tryed fighting his way down. For a minor badguy he was cool though, could have been used as a good character down the line though. It's a shame.

Now Jack going to storm the place by himself, which is something he's familiar with, and try and save the two. He's not dieing so there are only a few ways that situation can go.

I'm interested as to why this trial was done, and what bigger cause does it aids.

Yes. :p

Chloe's got a cutesy sort of charm to her. There's this one face she makes sometimes in awkward moments that I like. But she's got some unendearing qualities that come along with her being a very capable taskmaster, as well as someone who's never afraid to speak her mind. Like I said, cute. But hot? No way dude.

I second that! Their captors don't seem to be the types of captors who would hold off on something.

Another great episode of this show, and so far season 4 is starting out way better than season three was. One thing that I like about this show is how the terrorists are actually smart and aren't stupid like other shows. Bummed to see Chloe gone since she was the last likeable character on the show besides Jack(even though Edgar is growing on me). I still hate Driscoll, and the new president I'm still not sure if I like him or not even though I personally miss Palmer. And was I the only one who got excited at the end when Jack was getting ready to go in alone. **** I can't wait for next weeks episode and I really can't wait for two weeks from now when SPOILER WARNING

Tony comes back on the show according to TV Guide.

Methinks I'm gonna like next episode, if Jack has ten minutes to get his girlfriend out of that place before they're both blown up. With the absence of Chloe, CTU is now totally full of people we barely know and so far they all suck.

Maybe the schizo daughter won't be such a filler if she'll end up escaping and doesn't like the sound a hard drive is making, so she kicks it so hard all of CTU goes down. Or at least I hope there's something like that. If the character is intended to give her "depth," it doesn't work. I still don't have any more sympathy for Driscoll tonight than I have for Behrooz.

I believe what she meant was that she couldn't/wouldn't help physically kill her father. It's one thing to kill both him and herself by gas but quite another to actually help choke him until he suffocates.

Hmmm. I keep on wondering what is in that briefcase because pretty much that is what they are protecting so far. As far as last night went. Welll it was an exiciting ride. It's going to be interesting to see if Jack can get both Heller and his girlfriend out of the building before it blows up. And Behrooz needs to get some guts and get pissed at his family for doing what they are doing.

Now I know Tony's coming back but is there any truth to the rumor of Michelle coming back aswell?

Also has anybody been able to pick out Oded Fehr (http://www.netflix.com/RoleDisplay?id=20006880) from the Mummy Movies? There was some news that he was going to be the Head terriorist this season but I haven't seen him yet.

Oh, and this episode was good. Seems like a buildup to the next hour, but it worked. I liked seeing Behrooz get the save with Debbie's mom and thought the suicide was a nice twist (it was funny how the car sat there motionless for a minute and then BOOM EXPLOSION).

Chloe =(

Actually, I saw her out of character on a Webcast before the season started and she was kinda cute. Nice smile and laugh. ;)

As for the show, kind of slow-moving, but it was all right. The suicide scene was a good twist. I thought the Secretary and his daughter would "escape." I can't believe that I actually was disappointed they survived. And, even though I've been bashing her since Day 1, I'm actually going to miss Chloe. That "pseudo-Sherry" is getting on my nerves. I hope Edgar stands up for himself and puts that sistah in her place!

Chloe's parting shot: "You're a geek, but you're a good guy." Gee, thanks! Only Chloe!

Can't wait for next week! Hollah!

Well, if you think about it, he probably just saved the life of Debbie's mom. What would have happened if she forced her way in and saw the body? That's another body they'd have to bury...

Please allow me to clarify my definition of the word "hot." A hot woman would be someone who looks sexually appealing from a purely visual standpoint, and is by no means a measurement of personality or charm. If I made it sound like I was insulting Chloe by saying she was not "hot," it was not my intention. She's a great character despite her faults. Erin's a complete tightwad for sending her off because she is, next to Jack or Tony, CTU's most indispensible asset regardless of this, the one time she acted without authorization. Anyway, Chloe's attractiveness is all relative and I apologize if I sounded demeaning.

(it was funny how the car sat there motionless for a minute and then BOOM EXPLOSION).
Reminded me of that Simpsons episode where the car rolls down a slight slope and just bursts into flames. I had a talk with someone during an all-night Day 1 marathon and we discussed the physics of Teri and Kim's safehouse getaway car blowing up. The gas in the engine could have been ignited from sparks in the collission, but there would be no giant explosion because the combustible element wasn't under any sort of pressure. It would just start burning where it sat inside the tank. However, this would cause an immediate and drastic buildup in heat, resulting in the eventual conflagration we saw in last night's episode. But I'm not a car expert so maybe everything I just said was totally wrong. Anyone?

For someone who calls himself a moron you are pretty smart. Unfortunately I think they will kill Debbie's mom anyways. They ARE planning on following her.

I was almost expecting to see Jack just gun down the entire police blockade to get back on track. I was pleasently surprised when he got the cops to call CTU. The suicide of the man he was tracking was really surprising too. The ending was great and has me really pumped for next week. Jack is going to in that compund blazing guns and I can't wait to see the result. I hope his 18 months out of the field plays into this. I like "SuperJack" but it'd be great to see him a bit vunerable.

Coming Soon! also has a story up involving a character appearing towards the end of this season. There are spoilers in the link:

Yes, but of course, it will be much harder to kill her outside of their home. They wouldn't risk shooting her in public. If she goes to the police they're probably screwed as there's no way they could off her in the police station without being seen, but if she trusts Behroose then she may simply go home, in which case they could easily kill her.
