Saw that promo. Good to have a solid date of when they'll be airing, but the promo didn't really show anything worth noting.

They did one for it's premiere after the superbowl.

Well, if the promo told us anything, Brian really enjoys dragging his butt on Tom Tucker's carpet.

Do you think the editing streak is over? Tonight "And The Weiner Is" came on and I thought "No way, they aren't going to run this without it getting chopped to bits." But I couldn't spot a single cut.
Well, they did cut out Quagmire's blow-up doll scene in Fifteen Minutes of Shame.

From what I heard, the contract is for 35.....that's 13 episodes for the summer and 22 for the next season.
I don't even remember that.
Meg walks in on Quagmire having sex and he says that her face bought her five more minutes...something like that. Maybe it wasn't a blow-up doll, but I didn't see her eyes blink, and she didn't really move at all...

I'm pretty sure that was a real woman. In the episode where Chris and Quagmire go off on lil strip club adventures and so forth, Quag crashes the car, and two blow up dolls pop out for airbags, landing the two face first into well....you've seen the episode, you know.
At any rate, judging from the look on the blow up dolls' faces actually resembling blow up dolls' faces (not that I'd know), I'd have to say that the woman Quag's gettin it on with in the kitchen is real. Since she resembles any other female character on the show, and has toes and so forth.
To be honest, I can't see Quagmire EVER using blow up dolls in the house. He gets enough tail as it is. The blow up dolls in the car was purely because you can't very well put a naked woman in the airbag compartment.
I mean, I guess if you chopped her up into little pieces and kinda smushed it in there real tight, it would work. But I fail to see the safety in that.

May 1st, I'll mark the calendar. Hopefully this will make me laugh like I did when the show first aired years ago, these reruns are dying on me and I'm sure many many others (not that that's all of America though. Look at the ratings and nearly everyone from my college.)

Did he not buy a vibrating sex doll in that episode where they get tax returns or something?

He also had a blow-up doll that had a picture of Lois on it. He made up a scavenger hunt for Chris and one of the objects was Lois' comb, which he removed the hair from it and placed it on said doll. That was creepy.

FOX SALUTES 'AMERICAN DAD' WHEN IT PREMIERES SUNDAY, MAY 1, ON FOX
Released by FOX
FOX SALUTES "AMERICAN DAD" WHEN IT PREMIERES SUNDAY, MAY 1, ON FOX
Sneak Preview Airs After Super Bowl XXXIX Sunday, Feb. 6, on FOX
The new animated comedy AMERICAN DAD will premiere Sunday, May 1 (9:30-10:00 PM ET/PT) on FOX, it was announced today by Gail Berman, President, Entertainment for the Fox Broadcasting Co. The Pilot episode will air as a sneak preview after Super Bowl XXXIX Sunday, Feb. 6 (approx. 10:30-11:00 PM ET/7:30-8:00 PM PT).
The series revolves around STAN SMITH (Seth MacFarlane, "Family Guy"), a CIA agent based in Langley Falls, VA, who is an undisputed weapons expert and proud family man. Stan's wife is the sweet, Edith Bunker-esque FRANCINE (Wendy Schaal), who has carefully hidden her party-girl personality for the sake of the conservative man she loves. Stan is constantly butting heads with his ultra-liberal 18-year-old daughter, HAYLEY (Rachael MacFarlane), who is forced to go through an airport-style security check every time she comes home from a day of Women's Studies classes at the local community college. Hayley's 13-year-old brother is the hapless, geeky STEVE (Scott Grimes), a kid who seems to be on the verge of puberty, but can't quite make it past the squeaky awkwardness. The Smith household is rounded out by two rather unconventional members. There's ROGER (Seth MacFarlane), the sarcastic space alien Stan rescued from Area 51 who lives in the Smiths' attic; and KLAUS (Dee Bradley Baker), a lascivious, German-speaking goldfish – the result of a CIA experiment gone seriously wrong.
This eccentric family full of radically different personalities is just trying to find a way to love and trust each other during these increasingly stressful times. And with a guy like Stan doing his best to make America safer, it's bound to be a hilarious ride.
AMERICAN DAD is a 20th Century Fox Television. Seth MacFarlane, Mike Barker and Matt Weitzman serve as co-creators and executive producers.
The card awhileback said "February: American Dad" so does that mean Adult Swim will be getting episodes in advance?

For some reason I thought the new Family Guy episodes began in February. Such a long wait....
On the plus side, a sneak preview of American Dad a la Family Guy's pilot in 1999. Something tells me Toon Zone might hit record attendance that night... :p

You're tellin me. Family Guy's return date has been bouncing all over. First it was January 2005, then June, then July, then March 2005, and now May 1st. Finally, but 104 days seems sooooooo far off. And I agree, these reruns are killing me. I've seen every episode about 300 times, it doesn't help that I have the DVDs. Family Guy's return will be well set, I would still like to have it right now though:shrug:
Yeah, if you're a CRIMINAL. :p

I am very surprised that Fox would air "Weiner" and "Shame" but it's probably just to try and get fans to see that they are not going to totally censor the program. I read a story on ABC News' website (http://abcnews.go.com/Entertainment/wireStory?id=419662&CMP=OTC-RSSFeeds0312) on the censorship, and it is upsetting that censorship has gotten to the point where they can't even show someone's ass on TV. Hopefully they didn't censor that part of "Shame" where Peter is naked on the beach and then in the parking lot. (although he's so fat you can't even see his penis)
By the way, this website is going to be more likely to reach a record number of hits on May 1 than after the post-Super Bowl premiere. That's just what I think though...get those servers ready!

I can just IMAGINE what happened when Seth handed over the first episode of the new season to FOX...
Seth: Okay...here the are.
FOX: Yes! Ratings!
Seth: Now...now...what did we agree on?
FOX: Ummm...uh...
Seth: C'mon! We had this talk! Now what are we gonna be lenient on?
FOX: Um, commercialism?
Seth: One of the things! Now what else?
FOX: Damn! Fine, we're not gonna edit it.
Seth: Good.
FOX: If we see a slightly bad word...please?
Seth: No!
FOX: Fine...how about a Bush bash?
Seth: You're asking for it!
FOX: But our viewers!
Seth: That's what FOX News is for.
FOX: How about cartoon nudity?
Seth: OK. But butts are fine.
FOX: Damn you! Damn you to hell!
Seth: Gimmie the episodes back!
FOX: Sorry! Sorry! We'll be good.
Seth: All right. I gotta go. Oh, yes! One last thing--
FOX: We know! We're not gonna put it aganist Friends!
Seth: Um, Friends is cancelled.
FOX: Or whatever is new at the time. Anyways, our slot is Sundays at 9, you know, going aganist ABC's new hit show "Desperate Housewives". We're sure you'll do fine.
Seth: Aww, damnit...

Um, it IS the full pilot. Both the DVD version and the leaked version are six minutes long and end with the old dog.

Oops. So if that was only a 6-minute pilot, then my original point still stands- that there should be quite a number of people for the talkbacks for the first FULL LENGTH episode.

Don't worry. A couple directors and producers for FG are trying to see if FOX will at least let them make an uncensored copy for Adult Swim and DVDs.

By the time Family Guy premieres Desperate Housewives will have concluded it's season 1 run, unless ABC has commited to producing new episodes for the summer which is highly atypical for regular season hit shows.

I bet ABC probably will do that, considering that the Houswife fans practically panicked when the show was on holiday break.
At the same time CSI New York and Law and Order Criminal Intent will be on Sunday nights at the same time. Of course, those two will probably be on summer break around May. Also, Arrested Development ratings are practically nothing compared to its competition, so reruns of the show may not be much of a leadin for the show.

Don't worry about CSI: NY. CBS airs movies on Sunday nights when it's not an awards show or a football runover. As for Law & Order: Criminal Intent, well it always is in reruns by May as they usually show the last new episodes during April Sweeps. Unless Desperate Housewives is a reality show (I don't think it is, is it), then it will be in reruns by that time, so since Family Guy will be the only show with premeires at that time, so it's ratings could escalate with this push back. We'll have to wait and see.
Christ, it's almost like Fox wants it to fail.

Relax, if FG can get good ratings against the Olympics they can get good ratings against these other shows.

And when has a network cared about fans panicking? If they decided to make new episodes of Housewives year round then that would just piss off the actors and they might even have strikes on their hands. Also, it's not possible to make that many new episodes that fast.
If reruns of Desperate Housewives do badly, then ABC will have the show take a break during the summer and air movies or some other show during the summer. So, Family Guy will either go up against reruns of Desperate Housewives or a completely different show, NOT new episodes of Desperate Housewives.
As for Law and Order:Criminal Intent. That show gets the lowest ratings of the Law and Order shows, I seriously doubt Fox considers that serious competition, especially in reruns. CSI:New York does okay, but it's not a big enough hit that Fox has to worry about reruns, especially with the huge excess of procedural dramas on TV.

I have to admit, I was a bit skeptical when I heard that Family Guy was making a comeback. I figured that the writers wouldn't be able to come up with good, fresh material. But after seeing this one promo, I have no doubt that the new season won't be successful.
