The title says it all. What scene in a cartoon has made you tear up/cry? Sorry if this has been posted before.
As for me, it's the ending to Jurrasic Bark where the dog waits his WHOLE LIFE for Fry and then it zoomes up on the dogs face as it lays down and dies. I'm getting sad just talking about it. The song it really sad, too.

Here's my cartoon scenes that make me cry both from South Park:
Mine would be Kenny dying that had some sort of reason. The other one was where Ike was being taken away from his adoptive parents and back to Canada in that Christmas episode.

The end of Raymond Briggs' The Snowman. Even at the age of 18 it still tugs at the heart strings :crying:
Another candidate might be the horrible animated specials that have been based on his stories more recently...

I don't think it made me cry (this might've :D). Since I'm so anal about spoiling shows for people, I've covered this under the veil of a spoiler box:
Dinobot's death scene in Beast Wars is right up there. It's a pretty touching scene, I really felt for the poor guy. To have a main character die like that hits pretty hard. I think it was very appropriate for him though, because he died with honor and in the glory of battle, not to mention essentially saving the human race. His clone also dies later on in the series, again doing another great act in his name, but that was more 'good for his name' than it was touching.
I've written about ol' Iron Giant's death scene previously (that one probably had me close to the breaking point of tearing up). That one hits pretty hard everytime.

"The Simpsons" Season 7 episode "Mother Simpson" - After Mona drives off in her van, Homer just watches as she disappears, then lays down on the hood of his car and looks up at the night sky. Had me on the verge the first time.

Yep, saw this last night again---- and again I just about cried. The end felt so weird because it just comes down to a dog waiting for his friend for the rest of his life, and never seeing him again. I would have figured they would have done something else, but they just ended it with the dog's passing.
Pretty disappointed and saddened by that one.

Gundam SEED: Murrue: MUUUUUUUUUU! (then the scene where his helmet is seen floating in space)
Escaflowne: Folken's death and Van's reaction. It's this role that solidified Seki Tomakazu's place as one of my favorite seiyuu.

Disney movies have given us a number of classic tear-jerker scenes.
From 'Snow White': the dwarves mourning Snow White's apparent demise.
From 'Bambi': Stag telling the fawn, "You're mother can't be with you anymore."
From 'Lion King': Simba trying to awaken his dead father.
From 'Tarzan': the mother gorilla crying when her baby is killed.

I forgot about that. I hated seeing him cry. I'm suprised i still remember that, sence I haven't seen Lion King in a loooooong time.

My fellow DCAU fans will know what I mean when I mention the famous ending to "Apokalypse...Now!" I think we've talked about the emotional impact of that set of scenes many times (b.t.'s favorite as well I believe).
Has anyone mentioned The Iron Giant yet? Again I won't bother with the spoiler because most of you know what moment I mean. There's also the introduction to "D.I.P." in Who Framed Roger Rabbit? And of course there's always Bambi!

Brother Bear: Kenai's confession to Koda, the song is wonderfully done and poor Koda running away is just so sad.

JL- Starcrossed, pt. 3- the end. If nothing else, it put me on the verge of tears.
Futurama- Jurrassic Bark- the end. I dare anyone to draw a more touching, sad scene (very slim odds).
The end of Raymond Briggs' The Snowman. Even at the age of 18 it still tugs at the heart strings :crying:I always thought that was sad, but the only animation that's made me outright burst into tears was the beautiful flying/falling moment of epiphany that Chihiro and Haku had in "Spirited Away."
OT: Do you know who has the airing rights to The Snowman, or if it's out on DVD? I haven't seen it in years!

Fry's holophone concert for Leela, after he gets his own hands back and finishes the story.
Berserk: Guts grinds his own arm off with a blunt sword to get to Caska. Griffith lets him think he is going to succeed, then at the last moment pins him to the ground and makes him watch.
Princess Mononoke: After Ashitaka is revived he is too weak to chew, so San chews food for him.

Bambi: "You're mother can't be with you anymore."
Lion King: ". . .we gotta go home."
Fushigi Yuugi: "You tricked me, didn't you?! You didn't come back for me. . ." -Yui. A total misunderstanding that is very tearful from both sides. Something about it really gets to me.
Dumbo: "Baby Mine" sequence
Lilo and Stitch: "I'll remember you, though. I remember everyone that leaves me."
Sailor Moon: When the sailor soldiers die one by one in ep. #45 and Usagi is left alone. (Japanese version only)
Grave of the Fireflies: Even though you know it's coming, the ending gets me every single time.
Beauty and the Beast: The whole thing, actually, when I saw it at Imax. Total time warp, man. I swear I was a different person when it was first released.
Finding Nemo: "When I look at you I. . . I'm home!"

While there have been cartoons that made me sad (Finding Nemo, Fullmetal Alchemist, other Futurama episodes), "Jurassic Bark" of Futurama is the only cartoon that made me cry as hard as I did. Even after seeing it for a second and third time, it still made me cry. Only twice before in my life have I cried like that, first over personal reasons and the second over a movie.
This is one of the reasons why I like Futurama so much.

Hm, lots of people are mentioning "Luck of the Fryrish" and "Jurassic Bark" on Futurama.
I actually cried during "Luck", but not "Bark" (although I would've if I didn't already read an episode summary before I saw it).
The end of "Avalon part III" in Gargoyles, that was a tough one.
When Sherry Bobbins was sucked into that plane...not really.

The ending to "A Pinky and The Brain Christmas" deserves a lot more attention. I can't just explain it to you here and make you realize why it is so sad any more than I can just say "the dog waits his whole life for Fry" and get you to understand the powerfulness of that. I'll just say, it's one of the best Christmas special moments ever. So many shows try and fail at making a scene like the one Brain ended up having.

I can get so choked up when I'm watching animated movies. Which is really embarassing.
Pochahantas: the ending.
Lilo and Stitch: Stitch's family speech he gave before boarding on the spaceship.
Pokemon the First Movie: when all the Pokemon cried and their tears brought Ash back to life.
Monster's Inc.: when Sully was saying goodbye to Boo.
Nausicaa of the Valley of the Wind: from the part where the Ohms brought her back to life till the end of the credits.

I think I remember that.
Pinky gives Brain a present, but Brain is in a bad mood because his plot to take over the world failed, so Brain tells Pinky to go away and leave him alone (or something alone those lines).
Pinky walks away, crying.
Brain opens the present just for the heck of it and it turns out to be a globe.
Brain is deeply touched by this and apologises to Pinky.
If I made a mistake please let me know.

I can´t stop crying either at the first Pokemon move where Ash is revived.
I think I remember that.

Brain opens the present just for the heck of it and it turns out to be a globe.
Brain is deeply touched by this and apologises to Pinky.
If I made a mistake please let me know.Umm... If I remember correctly, it went like this:
Brain is on the verge of taking over the world.
Pinky is bothering Brain about his Christmas list that didin't get to Santa.
Brain yells at him, and Pinky walks away crying.
Brain (out of curiousity) picks up he letter, and it's asking Santa for Brain to take over the world.
Brain is moved to tears and tells everyone in the world to have a merry christmas instead of handing over the world.
God... that is pretty sad when you think about it.

Grave of the Fireflys- ending
Sailor Moon R movie (season 2 altogether)- ending
Sailor Moon Stars- the scenes where the sailor senshi die (all of them at different parts)
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles- Tales of Leo- The whole episode was very touching. Hunted-Again the whole episode was touching, Raph holding Mikey in his arms asking him to wake up, Leatherhead crying for Michelangelo when he was holding him in his arms and later on in the sewers when he was blaming himself for what had happended to him (he thought he killed Mikey). Also, his thrilled reaction to see his friend alive was sweet. Big Brawl part 2- Splinter forfeits so Mikey can move on in the game (great father/son moment). Secret Origins part 3 and the X-Mas episode- Splinter recives the globe thingy that allows him to visit Yoshi's spirit, Splinter using it in the X-mas episode.
Futurama- (The episode where Bender falls in love with the ship) The scene near the end where Fry gives up his oxygen for Leela and dies, she revies him.

Re the ending to 'A Pinky And The Brain Christmas' (spoilers ahead, since I don't know how to use the box):
Your account is correct, Tash. But Tom Mewer is partly right too. Some while after Brain forfited his world-takeover plan, he and Pinky took a quiet moment to exchange Christmas presents. Brain gave Pinky a spell-checker (which Pinky loved), and Pinky gave Brain a keychain with a world globe on it. Brain, obviously moved, thanked Pinky, who responded by giving Brain an annoyingly tight hug. "Was that really necessary?"
The End.
One of the very best P&tB eps, indeed!

awwww yes that PatB Christmas ep brought some tears to my eyes too. I have that one on tape thank goodness. :D
There were a couple of other PatB eps that made me cry too...I don't remember what the episodes where called though. O_o
Lesse...
Fox and the Hound at the end "Copper your my very best friend.." :crying: actually once I bawled all the way through that movie. Never watch this movie if your having a bad day X.x
Fruits Basket ohhhh wow Momiji's past gets my almost every time. Same with Hatori's...
Monsters inc at the end "...Kitty?"
Lilo and Stitch "...I'm lost" (got a lil' teary eyed there but not much)
I'm sure theres more I just can't remember at the moment.:p
From animated films:
Grave of the Fireflies: The entire film is heartwrenching, but the end scene with the funeral pyre breaks my heart most.
The Lion King: Mufasa's death and Simba's reaction.
Mulan: Mulan's father trying to practice with his sword and faltering--I actually cried in the theatres with this one.
Pocahontas: The ending... god. :/
The Prince of Egypt: The entire beginning... and "A River Lullaby." I get choked up thinking about it.
From animated TV show episodes:
Futurama: "Jurassic Park" and "Luck of the Fryish." The former especially because I can't stand awful things happening to dogs. It makes me want to cry my heart out.
Revolutionary Girl Utena: The episode about Juri's locket. The music playing in the background ("Shi no Aphrodite"/"Aphrodite of Death") along with Juri's monologue about how she feels for Shiori... agh, so beautiful in its misery.
And of course all the uncountable death scenes in anime. ;)

Mine are two Pokemon episodes, and one WinX Club episode.
First, is the episode where Ash, Misty, and Brock get caught in a Blizzard. Pikachu gets swept up in a gust, and Ash runs off to grab him. He ends up pulling Pikachu off a cliff, and then calls out his pokemon to help a cave for shelter.
He then wants to have the pokemon go back into their balls to stay warm. They protest but Ash makes them return to the balls. He tries to get Pikachu to get into a ball as well, who refuses. Ash removes his jacket and wraps the poke balls with it. A gust of wind forces it's way into the cave. Ash blocks the draft with his back by leaning on it.
Ash is shivering and cold. Pikachu hugs Ash to help keep him warm, then the other pokemon come out of the balls on their own, to hug Ash and help keep him warm as well. Ash tears up and says "Fine, you win. We'll all be cold together. My friends..." Sad music swells.
The second is an episode called "Bye bye Butterfre"
I dreaded this episode once I saw the name, because I knew even before watching it, how sad it would be.
Ash, Misty and Brock, are on a hot air baloon. There are hundreds of butterfre around, as they are courting, and looking for mates. Ash puts a scarf on his Butterfre so he can keep track of him. Butterfre finds a female he likes, and tries to get her to notice him, but she ignores him.
Team Rocket shows up, and nets all the Butterfre. Ash's Butterfre tries despertly to rescue them, which the female notices. After a successful rescuce, the female pays attention to Ash's Butterfre.
After a long, and tearfull goodbye, Ash says goodbye to his Butterfre, who flies off into the sunset, also sad, missing his friend.
WinX Club:
"Day of The Rose" - Musa is depressed because Day of The Rose is a day to honor your parents, and Musa's mother has passed away, actually pretty close to that day. Her father is on tour with his hip-hop group.
"It's like my father says in one of his songs 'It takes a big heart to cry, but a bigger heart to say why.'" She says wiping a tear.
The girls are clearly touched, and lend support, and offer to take her to the speed bike race in town. Musa informs them she would rather spend the day by herself. She spends the day alone on campus, with a picture of her mother. She "tells" her mother, by talking to the picture about what's new with her. It's her way of dealing with her loss. Possibly the most touching scene in the whole first season.
The fact Musa's dad is on tour has actually bothered me from the first time I saw that episode. I figure he would know, his daughter would need some support on that day. But after some thought I've come to these conclusions: First, Day of The Rose is a big Holiday, and he probably doesn't have any choice. And second, The Day Of The Rose is probably just a bitter-sweet to him as it is to Musa. So he chooses to stay busy with work to try to make the day more bearable.

Futurama: Jurassic Bark. First time I saw it, I cried for days. I was so mad at Fry, and the ending really, really got to me.
The Land Before Time: A lot of that movie makes me sad, but the ending song is 98% guaranteed to make me cry everytime.
Dumbo: I haven't seen this in years, but the "Baby Mine" song always got to me.
Pokemon: The episode where Pikachu almost leaves to stay with that Pikachu herd. I have no clue why, but I cried.

The ending of Victory Gundam. Katejina suffers a fate worse than death and it's just sad to see her brought to such a state. The kicker is Shakti not saying anything about Katejina to Usso and friends and just crying alone for her enemy's misfortune.

Lots of scenes in Simpsons and Futurama tug at my heartstrings.
Ex.s:
The ending to "Life in the Fast Lane"
The ending to "Bart vs. Thanksgiving"
"One Fish, Two Fish, Red Fish, Blowfish"
The ending to "Lisa on Ice" (touched me when I was a child)
The ending to the one where the kids are raised by the Flanderses
The scene in "Space Pilot 3000" where Fry and Leela look lovingly at each other, and put their hands together.
Leela finding Nibbler in "Love's Labors lost in Space"
"A Flight to Remember"
"X-Mas Story", esp. when Leela says to Fry, "But together, we're lonely together."
Bender sobbing over Leela about to be eaten by Lrrr in "The Problem with Popplers" and Fry translating Bender's feelings about Leela.
When they all hug near the end of "A Tale of 2 Santas"
The scene in "The Birdbot of Ice-catraz" where Leela cries when she brings herself to shot a penguin.
Leela kissing Fry in "Insane in the Mainframe"
The ending to "The Cyberhouse Rules"
The ending to "Time Keeps on Slipping". Didn't bother me when I first watched it, but after repeat viewings I really felt bad for poor Fry.
The ending to "Kif gets Knocked up a notch".
The ending to "Leela's Homeworld". Why does everyone hate this episode?
Also, the Ren and Stimpy episode "Stimpy's 1st Fart" a.k.a. "Son of Stimpy" was suprisingly touching.
The Fairly OddParents ep. "Boy Toy" was somewhat touching, it made you feel bad for poor Tootie.
Here's one I forgot to mention:
The first episode of Naruto. That scene with Iruka crying hits a little too close to home for me.
Justice Gundam

The ending of Victory Gundam. Katejina suffers a fate worse than death and it's just sad to see her brought to such a state. The kicker is Shakti not saying anything about Katejina to Usso and friends and just crying alone for her enemy's misfortune.
Much as I hate Katejina and I think she's such an horrible person who deserved what happened to her (Katejina is, IMHO, one of the few Gundam characters one can safely call 'evil'), I did feel a twinge of sympathy too...
Then, we have Gundam 0080...
Of course, I'm talking about Bernie's death... made all the more tragic by the fact that he was killed by the girl he liked, and that the Musai carrying the nukes had actually been stopped... :crying:
...the ZZ Gundam ending...
Judo and Lina greet each other back just moments before getting separated again... that was bittersweet... it always breaks my heart to rethink about Lina's "death" scene too... :crying: and lil' Puru too... :crying: so innocent and yet cruelly manipulated by that b*****d Gremmy...
The Winx Club episode where Bloom gets the Dragon Fire taken away from her. I admit I cried there - that was probably the episode that stemmed my hatred for Icy...
That Peanuts movie where Snoopy goes to his old mistress (Lyla, I think she was called) and gives that tearful goodbye to his friends.
In Metal Armor Dragonar,
when Captain Gor dies after being praised by his commander Gun Jem...
Gor - I'm sorry... Colonel... once again... I could do nothing but screw up everything...
Gun Jem - It's not true, Gor. You gave it your all, and you fought with courage. You are a true soldier.
Gor - Thanks... Colonel... you'll see... I will get... those Dragonars... next... time... (dies) :crying:
And then, a few episodes later, when Gun Jem cries for the deaths of his men. And, again some episodes later, when Ken is forced to fight his friends in order to save his mother... Damn you, Dorchenov!
This is all I can say for now.

Pokemon: "Sperows, do you know who I am? I'm Ash of the town of Pallet! I am destened to become the world's number one trainer and I will defeat you all, I can't be beaten by the likes of you...(Pikachu, go inside the pokeball, it's the only way!)...COME AND GET ME!"
Come on, that's the one eppisode that drug everyone in, I can bet that now!

I have always teared up for Prime's Death, but the cartoon moment that made me cry the most was in the last episode of Azumanga Daioh:
When Kagura asks to take a desk home, and Yukari says no, and that she already has taken something with her, the memories and the knowledge she got in high school, and Kagura just completely looses it. That and when the girls walk away at the end, to go to different schools, and you realize that the characters you have grown to know and love may never see each other again, and that yes, you also will never see them again, except in episodes you've already seen.

I've never cried, but the scenes in cartoons that have moved me the most:
Gargoyles: Many moments in "City of Stone". Both tears on stone sequences in part one, the first when Demona hides on the beach and the second where she bids farewell to the stone Goliath. Macbeth having to say good-bye to Gruoch both times (when she was ordered to marry Gillecomgain and again after his "death"), Demona getting her name. And of course "The access code is... Alone."
Cowboy Bebop: Faye finally realizes what she's been searching for all along was right in front of her, but two late. She tries to persuade Spike to not go and confront Vicious knowing he'll die, and she fails.
Berserk: Uh... the end... that's all I'll say.

Lets see I have a few
Transformers Beast Wars--Code of Hero, doesn't matter how many times I see it
Futurama---Luck of the Fryish and Jurrassic Bark, its a shame that show was pulled off the air because of bad scheduling choices mainly.
Justice League--The ends of both Terror Beyond and Starcrossed
G-Gundam--Don't know the titles right off hand, but the moment when Domon had to kill Swartz, when Master Asia dies, and especially when he rescues Rain. Though I think alot of that is the music that is playing in the background too.
Full Metal Alchemist--Didn't think this show would be for me but it hasn't ever failed to impress, emotional scene was Chimera Nina
Its moments like these that allow me to feel no shame for being a adult viewer of toons, for the most part the best ones are head and shoulders above most of the non-animated crap that is on the air now.

I have 2 one at the end of pokemon master quest, wher ash, brock, and misty splits up and ash and misty look at each other and ash said goodbye to brock and misty. That was a, kinda a cring episode, I wish I could see that again. The other when goku got done faceing the four star dragon and then the one star dragon killed him from behind. That episode almost got me to sheed a tear.

G-Gundam--Don't know the titles right off hand, but the moment when Domon had to kill Swartz, when Master Asia dies, and especially when he rescues Rain. Though I think alot of that is the music that is playing in the background too.
Those would be ep 44 "Schwarz rests in grace! Domon's tearful attack", ep 45 "Farewell Master! Master Asia's last breath" (though I always kinda liked the fansub title "Master Asia dies in the morning sun") and ep 49 "God Gundam's great triumph! A hopeful future...Ready, GO!"
Another one 'which tugged at the heartstrings' for me was that Gargoyles episode early on in the series when they were giving each of the Gargoyles character exposition episodes - Broadway accidentally firing Eliza's gun and shooting her. Yes you could cyncially say 'it's just a "say no to guns" story but I thought it was more than that. Him sobbing outside the hospital window where she's taken was poignant. And near the end, where he screams at the thugs who have guns, it is quite powerful.

but the cartoon moment that made me cry the most was in the last episode of Azumanga Daioh:
When Kagura asks to take a desk home, and Yukari says no, and that she already has taken something with her, the memories and the knowledge she got in high school, and Kagura just completely looses it. That and when the girls walk away at the end, to go to different schools, and you realize that the characters you have grown to know and love may never see each other again, and that yes, you also will never see them again, except in episodes you've already seen.
Oh please! That happens in every HS graduation anime and videogames! That's already a cliche and to be expected! :p

As for me, it's the ending to Jurrasic Bark where the dog waits his WHOLE LIFE for Fry and then it zoomes up on the dogs face as it lays down and dies. I'm getting sad just talking about it. The song it really sad, too.
I agree with that one, but it didn't make me cry, just depressed (and I found some sick humor in it).
The moments on Futurama that made me cry:
1) The part on "Time Keeps on Slippin'" when Fry finds a love message he wrote to Leela in the stars, but it gets blown up and neither Leela nor Bender notices.
2) Leela's Homeworld: Leela's tirade when the mutants (who were Leela's parents) lied and said they killed her parents.

Come on, that's the one eppisode that drug everyone in, I can bet that now!It would have been a lot better if Veronica Taylor's Ash voice didn't sound so downright weird in the first bunch of episodes.
The climatic scene of Metropolis definitely qualifies.

Robotech: This series may have had a lot of deaths, but it's always Ben Dixon's death that gets me. Especially on repeat viewings of that episode when he leaves the steak dinner behind, because you know he's not going to be coming back.
Digimon: Wizardmon's sacrifice in Wizardmon's Gift. I don't think the death of any other Digimon has been as significant as his was.

Still didn't push me to actual tears, but...
GTO episode 11, where Nomura is supposed to be performing in a school idol competition to impress one of her oldest friends who's rejected her. Instead of reading her lines she uses a cell phone to explain her feelings about her friend. Then her friend goes home and discovers the message on her answering machine.
Oh, and... (Evangelion)
The scene where Misato hears the phone message from Kaji telling her to keep searching for the truth... after she's probably just killed him.
Justice Gundam
01-23-2005, 03:03 PM
According to Anno himself (this is somethig I read in the Evangelion Film Books):
Kaji was killed by either a third agent working for Seele or for NERV's Intelligence division - both ways, this rules out Misato, since she doesn't work for the Intelligence division.
And, if Misato had killed Kaji, the trauma of his death would have been dealt with in Misato's Complementation.
Just something that came out of my mind in this moment, I hope I'm not sounding like a jerk or anything.

Never really cried for a cartoon.
The closest I've ever come to crying was Grave of the Fireflies and I only choked up a bit. It's weird though because the first time I watched it I almost cried at the beautiful montage after the tragic death. When I watched it the second time, I became more choked up during the scenes when the little girl starts to cry or be tough.

This falls under a technicality, but it IS animated, so it counts!
And spoilers, for the 3 of you who haven't played Final Fantasy VII...
Aeries' death, is far and away one of the most emotional deaths in video game history. Aeries is the first character we see (during the intital cut scene), and grows to be one of the most important characters, not only in the story, but to the group as well.
In a moment of triumph, for Cloud and his group, Sephiroth leaps down from above and runs Aeries through with his sword. He then taunts Cloud with his usual criptic refrences and leaves.
The whole group is stunned, Cloud takes Aeries into a lake nearby, and while somber music plays, drops her into the water's depths.
People have openly wept during this cut scene, many others were left with a sad, empty feeling. Here were my thoughts the first time watching this cut scene...
"She'll get up.....she'll get up....oh no....she's dead..."
This, is probably one of the main reasons why Sephiroth is SO infamous, and why Final Fantasy VII is the best selling Final Fantasy title there is. When you finally fight Sephrioth and beat him in one of the hardest boss battles out there, EVERYBODY lets out a groan of relief. Payback sucks, doesn't it Sephy?
There are many sad facts in the video game world.
3. Your controller is not broken.

Some more scenes that tugged my heartstrings:
SIMPSONS:
The ending of "Bart gets hit by a Car": When Homer looks into Marge's eyes.
"I Married Marge" and "Lisa's 1st word" were also heart-warming.
ROCKO's MODERN LIFE:
The scene near the end of "Crusin': Part One" where an old-timer tells Rocko whys old people are crotchety (SP?) and Rocko cries.
SOUTH PARK:
"I'm A (Lonely) Jew on Christmas" from "Mr. Hankey the Christmas Poo"
The musical montage in "Tom's Rhinoplasty"
Mr. Hankey's near-deaths in "Chef's Chocolate Saucy Balls"

The scene with Ike hiding in the attic in B,L&Uc
When Wendy says "STAN!!!" after Stan finds the ****orius (SP?) in B,L&Uc
Kyle's speech in B,L&Uc
The episode "Raisins" was pretty touching (when "Don't know what ya got 'till it's gone" plays, and when Butters tells Stan that it's okay to be sad)

Agh, Jurassic Bark! If that ep comes on, I just say to myself that I'll stop watching before the end... but every time I get suckered in to watching the whole thing. Agh! :crying: I don't actually cry, but I definitely get very choked up. I don't cry that often in movies or shows, so it usually has to be something like a drawn out character death for me. I cried at the end of Cowboy Bebop and got sniffly in the Iron Giant, but I think that's it.
I'd also like to add that as much as I like Disney movies, I've never cried in a single one. They're just so cheesy and obvious I find it impossible. Not in Bambi, not in the Lion King, not in anything. Maybe I'm just heartless. :P
I have more!
The Polar Express: that song the kids were singing when they were looking at the northern lights.
'When Christmas Comes To Town', that was such a moving song. You just can't listen to it with a straight face. It made me give $20 to the Salvation Army right after I saw that movie. (blinking back tears) THAT should have been nominated for an Oscar, not 'Believe'.
'When She Loved Me' was also tear-jerking. I almost wanted to find my old stuffed animals and hug them again, when I realised, 'What are you doing, you gave them to your cousin. This movie isn't real.' THAT'S how much it moved me.
Of course 'Baby Mine'. I dare ANYONE to watch it and NOT wipe away tears!

The movie, "Unico: The Islands of Magic", was very depressing. Especially, in the scene, when the baby demons were crying for their parents. God, I can still hear one of the baby demons crying out when Unico and Cheri left: "Mama. Mama. Mama! Mama! Mama! ......", and the other demons joining in, call me what you wish, but this was so freaking sad! The animator made such a big deal of that scene being very relevant in the story, that they never even bothereed to reunite the demons with their parents!!! What was the deal?!?
I also thought "The Brave Little Toaster" was another great masterpiece; another lovable movie to cry in. And, don't forget "The Pagemaster". But, even though, I never actually cried in any of these movies, they are so sad!

Ah yes! I forgot about that one! When I was little I got so sad at the end of that ep.
That Simpson's episode where we learn how Maggie was born. The way it's explained at the end that the reason there aren't pictures of Maggie at home is that Homer took them to work and used them to turn that depressing sign (Don't forget: You are here forever) into a really sweet motivation: Do it for her. This is one of my favourite episodes and I really loved Homer in the end (and that's a lot to say).
Also the episode where Bart sells his soul (he was really desperate!) and when he plays hockey against Lisa.

I always found the early episodes of Ed, Edd & Eddy where the Eds are just trying to fit in with the other kids to be a little sad.
The final episode of Home Movies
The 1939 Disney Short The Ugly Duckling. Can't get through this one without tearing up.
The episode of Alvin & The Chipmunks where the boys reunite with their mother. There was another Chipmunks episode where Alvin, Simon and Theodore get in a fight over something (my memory's a little foggy) and split up that I found kind of saddening, but probably wouldn't effect me much if I saw it today.
The DuckTales episode "Nothing To Fear", in which Magica makes Scrooge and his nephews think that they hate each other, had some pretty stirring moments.
There was a surprising ep of Adventures of Sonic The Hedgehog (a show not really known for good plot) where Tails' parents (really Robotnik's thugs) show up and take him home and we find out how he and Sonic met that I found kind of touching.
The episode of Bobby's World where his favorite school crossing guard died

I very rarely cried at cartoons. But the ending of the "Digimon" episode, Enter the Dark Masters is proberbly the saddest scene ever animated.
I loved Chuumon so, so, so, so, so, so, so, so, very, very much and seeing him die against those MORONS who tried to hurt the digi-destened when he was just about to attempt to fight them, made me so misrible that I not only cried so hard, I wanted to mercilessly rip those bad guys in the most violent, bloodiest way possible.
I didn't care about the climax about "Will Piximon defeat the Dark Mosters?", I just cared about Chuumon, all I cared about while watching that was Chuumon. Seeing him die so horribly, ripped my heart very badly. Even while typing this I feel so very sorry for Chuumon. I could even cry right now because of it, but I can't because my parents would think I'm up to something.

Let's see I have a lot of episodes/movies that made me tear or cry a little I'm a very sensitve person deep down lol let's see;
1. Danny Phantom-The Ultimat Enemy: The part when Danny woke up infont of a statue of his parents and friends and it said gone but not forgotten. The music and the way Danny said it was very sad, I cry'd a little bit.
2. Kim Possible-So the Drama: In the end when there was a sign that just said end. I'm a big fan of the show so to see that sign it had me crying like a baby, I still do each time I see the movie. I mean just knowing there won't be any more new episodes of one of my favorite shows makes me all teary.
3. Lilo and Stitch the First Movie: When Lilo said to Stitch you came back for me and Stitch said I will not forget or something like that. I also cried when Stitch left Lilo's house and saw ducks walking across infront of him.
4. Pokemon: Way too many episodes/movies in season one/two.
5. Bambi: When Bambi's mother died I couldn't stop.
6. Digimon Season Two: The final episode had me going. I also hated the fact that Tie and Sora didn't get together but oh well. It's not killing me.
7. King of the Hill: When Hank almost died in that store I forget the name of the episode though.
8. The Rugrat's: Chuckie finding out about his mother being dead that was sad.
9. The Adventures of Jimmy Neutron Boy Genius: When I wrote Keith one of the producers f Jimmy Neutron and asked what happend to Sheen's mom. He said she died when Sheen was really young I started crying lol.

Um...probably the scene in "Dumbo" when he visits his mother. Got me good. I was just a kid and I ran into my bedroom and cried. Then I thought, "Uncle Walt, that was a dirty trick!!!!" Little did I know what lay in store for me..."Old Yeller", "Bambi", "The Lion King"...;)
But on the subject of "Futurama"...that episode called "The Sting" where Fry dies defending Leela. Man I teared up a bit at that one. If the whole series had been as good as that one episode it wouldn't have been cancelled IMO.

Oh, yeah, "Iron Giant". I saw that at the theater and made a fool of myself. Little old ladies were crying, men were crying, women were crying...man. Great stuff...

Now that was REALLY a dirty trick! :(

Sulley taking Boo back to her home and having to say goodbye to her, and then the scene right before the credits roll. It just gets to me every single time, I can't help it.

> Lilo and Stitch the First Movie: When Lilo said to Stitch you came back for me and Stitch said I will not forget or something like that. <
He quoted what Lilo and Nani said earlier: "'Ohana' means family. Family means no one gets left behind, or forgotten."
I suspect that's an actual Hawaiian saying. If so, Disney did a good service in making it so widely known.

Iron Giant - The ending when the Giant does what he has to do (you know what I mean). EVERY SINGLE time I see that scene, I get so emtionally distressed. I mean, here he is, a giant robot with a child-like heart because of his lack of knowledge of Earth, yet by the end of the movie, he shows of what he's learned from Hogarth and suddenly sprouts this deep maturity, yet still remaining a sense of innocence. Not one show, movie, whatever has even made me feel emotionally choked up everytime I watch it as Iron Giant has.
Digimon 2 (two episodes): The first time I truly cried was Digimon Season 2 (which ironically is my least fave Digimon season). Basically, the first time was when Ken's Wormmon sacrificed his life to save Ken and such. Seeing a broken down Ken clutch onto a dying Wormmon suddenly made me bawl, and I mean full blown bawl like a baby. I was crying like no tomorrow for a full 15 minutes.
The other episode was "Genesis of Evil" that dealt with Ken's past. I cried once more thoughour the entire freakin' episode. It was too beautiful for words.
Tarzan: The scene where Tarzan is putting on his father's suit, seemingly ready to depart to England. His good-bye to his gorilla mother ached my heart inside.
other notables that tugged my heartstrings include:
~Jurassice Bark from Futurama
~Several Simpsons episodes
~The second Pokemon's movie ending (it was more so beautiful with lovely music).

As many other people have mentioned, the climax in The Iron Giant almost made me cry my eyes out. I love that movie so much, because it just has such a great feeling to it when you watch it.
Jurassic Bark, now that's some sad stuff right there. Just seeing the dog close his eyes before the credits is a real teary moment.
And lastly, when I used to watch Pokemon, I cried SO many times. Whenever he had to give away one of his Pokemon or something along those lines, I actually started crying. Sort of pathetic, actually, but it happens. Oh yeah, and in the first movie, when he turned to stone and they were all crying, oh MAN. I just..I couldn't even talk, I was so depressed. I thought about it for days. :p
Quite a few scenes in toons have made me cry.
Tv:
Futurama
Luck of the fryrish jurrasic bark are obvious ones.
One Piece:
In Episode 11 When Usopp and Luffy overhears Kuro and Jango talking about how to get rid of Kaya to get the inheritance then destroy the town and when Usopp goes to warn everybody, no one believes him not even Kaya.
The Simpsons:
In the end of the episode Lisa's First word. Always gets to me.
Theres More but i can't be bothered to write em.
Movies:
Monsters Inc:
The end always makes me cry
Finding Nemo:
This ending also makes me cry.
Toy Story 2:
The scene from Jessies past being played with then forgotten also makes me brawl.
Dammit Pixar stop making me cry.
Theres many more but as i said, i can't be bothered to write em.

I see that anyone who has mentioned Digimon in this thread has talked about its second season. I can't seem to get through the very end of Digimon's third season without crying, when the Tamers' Digimon regress to their baby forms and have to go back to the Digital World.

The Proud Family episode "Ain't Nothing Like The Real Thingy, Baby": That episode made me cry at the end because it was mean and cruel!

Fox and Hound: the whole ‘goodbye is like forever, farewell is like the end’ scene. Seven when I saw it, I think. And again when I saw it recently.
Beauty and the Beast: "You came back..." and the whole ‘I love you’ scene. I’m sucker for those.
Bambi: "You're mother can't be with you anymore." Definitely, and I was… three? When I watched this?
Dumbo: ‘Baby Mine’ Always.
Lion King: After the Stampede.
Land Before Time: I can’t remember which scene, but it’s after what’shisname’s mother dies, and he’s looking into the leaf thing. I was a tot when I saw this.
Heck, I was a tot and I cried at most of the Disney movies, xept Aladdin…
Justice League: Starcrossed. The last scene.
Justice League: Kid Stuff, “I haven’t been a kid since I was eight years old” sorta tugged at my heart strings.
Batman: Mask of the Phantasm- Andrea comforts Bruce at his parent's gravesite…
Hmm… what else?

I'm a romantic and a bit of a sap, so I have let a tear fall from my face because of a number of animated scenes. I have an odd fondness for sad scenes, in a way they are enlivening and reassuring.
Futurama:The final revelation in "Luck of the Fryrish" was very effective. The emotional effect on Fry was quite palpable. The ending of "Jurassic Bark" still trumped it. I am not a lover of dogs, but the way the story was constructed and visually played out had a lot of potency of feeling, but what really made it effective was the Connie Francis version of 'I Will Wait for You' that played over it, which is even more acutely felt if you've seen The Umbrellas of Cherbourg.
Cowboy Bebop: I found the ending of "Waltz for Venus" to be very touching for some reason. That final scene of Spike walking through the bazaar as the grey ash begins to fall like snow chokes me up reliably every time.
The Iron Giant: The giant's final sacrifice, the culmination of his few, but deep experiences felt both right and sad. Loss and satisfaction had an odd way of working together to give that considerable emotional worth. If you stop the film just as the screen fades to black after the statue scene, it's one of the most poignant films, if you don't and you watch the bedroom scene at the end, it was a good movie that didn't mean so much in the end.
Avatar: The Last Airbender: While the scene lost the effect on subsequent viewings, sooner than many, the events immediately leading up to the restoration of the moon spirit made me tear up a little the first time around.
Now and Then, Here and There: This entire series is so thickly woven with tragedy that I could not recount all of the powerfully sad moments. The small times of hell and madness that descended upon any given character at any given time each carried a great and edifying weight of mourning. The ending, oddly, was different, having a bittersweet tone, it was not by any means happy, but each character seemed poised to go somewhere from the depths of tragedy to which they had been drawn, in a way I think that ws the most appropriate sense for the series to cultivate at its end.

It's called "plotting". I thought the way the truth was revealed in that episode was very clever. Another reason I like it so much.

When I was younger: All Dogs Go to Heaven, when Charlie realizes that his time is finally up. When he says goodbye to a sleepy Anne-Marie, who doesn't fully realize its implications, it's sad enough. But then he says goodbye to his friend Itchy, who does, and then there was just blubbering kids all over the classroom.
And, uh, this one episode of Jem where Kimber and Stormer leave their respective rival bands, run into each other, and find themselves bonding over their mutual dissatisfaction. They create a successful musical duo (mostly out of spite, I think), but they also strike up a solid friendship with each other. Eventually, their original bands persuade the two to return to them, though they make it clear that the pair's friendship is subordinate to the bands' rivalry. So Kimber and Stormer say goodbye knowing that, but still run back for one final hug at the end.
After that episode:
Sibling: "Are you crying?"
4 yr.-old 'Stute: "NO." *sniffle*
More recent ones that have made me choke up some:
-Futurama: "Luck of the Fryrish", "Jurassic Bark", and "Time Keeps on Slippin'".
-The Simpsons: "And Maggie Makes Three", "Mother Simpson", and "'Round Springfield" (when Bleedin' Gums Murphy dies).
-Iron Giant:When the Giant leaves Hogarth at the end, it's already pretty devestating, but it's his last line that really gets me.
-Toy Story: Buzz's failed flight while "I Will Go Sailing No More" plays.
-Lilo & Stitch: When Stitch says of his adopted family: "It's little, and broken, but still good."
I'm a little embarrassed that I didn't cry at Grave of the Fireflies, though. I have to rewatch it sometime to ensure that I'm not totally stonehearted and was just too distracted that day or something.

Grave of the Fireflys-depressing...very depressing
Wolf's Rain- Toboe's death made me cry so hard, still gets me every time!
Lilo and Stitch 2: Stitch's death; while it didn't make me cry, it was still pretty emotional!

Toy Story 2 - The sequence where Jessie remembers her former owner Emily, with the Sarah McLachlan song "When She Loved Me" playing. A very emotional moment.

Family Guy: The ending of "Brian Wallows and Peter's Swallows". The emotion felt between the scene interweave of Peter letting the baby swallows leave, and Brian spending the last moments of Pearl's life with her in the VR machine were just too much, and i ended up sniffling and tearing up by the end. And then of course the doctor comes into the room and goes, "Anyone wanna see a dead body?!"...which kinda ruins the whole touching moment.
South Park: Bigger, Longer and Uncut: Christoph/The Mole's death. Another tearful moment that kinda got ruined near the end. xD Every time I watch this scene, just hearing Christoph sing the reprise of "La Resistance" makes me misty eyed. Then he dies, and the music upswings dramatically and sadly, zooming out, until:
Kyle - "SH**!" Touching moment gone. :D
The Simpsons: The episode where Moe gets emotionally attached to Maggie (I forget the title...^^; ). I feel SO bad for him in this one...at first the show starts out with him thinking no one in town likes him, so he tries to end it all by throwing himself off a bridge tied to a rock...and in the process ends up saving little Maggie from falling off the same bridge. Maggie grows so fond of Moe, and vice versa, it's just so adorable. :anime: But I can remember tearing up when Marge got fed up with him wanting to be with Maggie all the time and forbid him to play with her ever again...and for the longest time I hated her for it. ^^;
CatDog: Quite a few eps, mostly the ones involving poor Cat getting the short end of the stick. I don't exactly tear up, but I just feel so very bad for him, I wanna hug the poor guy. ^^;
Animaniacs: I forget the titles, but the short about the piece of gold wrapping paper, and the one about the cuckoo clock bird boy and the real canary girl. These had me bawling as a kid. :crying:
One Piece- Skypiea spoiler When Luffy uses Golden Rifle to knockout Eneru and ring the bell for the old man. That choked me up.
But by far, the sadest moment has to be from Grappler Baki. I'm sure someone has seen it and knows what I'm talking about.
When Baki's mother is killed by his father. Baki is shown carrying his mother on his back through town, but in reality his mother is really dead and he's just carrying her ring. What makes it so sad is that he looks so happy carrying his mother, talking to her as they walk. But then reality sets in and he looks terrible, as if he's lost everything.God that was so sad.

In Grave of the Fireflies when the girl, well, makes the grave for the fireflies.
This is an odd one, but in the Teen Titans episode Stranded, there's a scene where Beast Boy briefly thinks Cyborg has died. He's holding Cyborg's mechanical leg and tearing up. Gets me every time.
Luck of the Fryrish gets me every time as well.

The ending "flashback" in Only Yesterday and the little girl's response to her story critique in Whisper of the Heart are both tremendously moving. Many of you probably aren't yet familiar with these Studio Ghibli films, but catch them when they air on TCM in January, and when they hit DVD shelves in the spring. I like those two more than the more famous Ghibli works.
Also, I notice that no one has listed Robin's Reckoning part one. How can you go wrong with the most quietly searing death scene ever shown on children's television? Even Bruce Timm got choked up in certain parts...(actually, one part IIRC, involving an elephant).

Full Metal Alchimest: "Night of the chimara's cry"
The scene just after the revolation with Tucker's new Chimara.
Tucker: If you think about it, we're just the same-
Edward (Puches Tucker hard, makeing his glasses fall off): Don't you dare rasionalise this!
Tucker: What's wrong Edward, I thought it was this thinking that made you do what you did to bring your mother back.
At which point, Ed goes nuts and stats to pound the hell out of Tucker screaming "I'M NOT!" repeativly.

The ending of Digimon season one made me cry the first time I saw it. It was so sad that they had to be seperated from their Digimon forever. It was even more sad because I thought season two would be about an entirely new group of kids. Of course, everytime I saw that episode afterwards, it was just an ending to me because of season two.
Season three's ending might've made me cry, mostly because I was worried no one would show season four.
Season four's ending made me cry a few days after it's first UPN airing because it was GAME OVER... at least until now! :p
