I'm keeping my fingers crossed big time on this one, but I noticed for the next week's edition of Toonheads they showed a clip of the very first succsessful true cartoon, "GERTIE THE DINOSAUR"(1914) from the legendary animation pioneer Windsor McKay.

A silent cartoon shown on CN? could be, but I urge everyone to tape that show in case they present this historical landmark cartoon. If you truly love cartoons, then this is one cartoon YOU SHOULD own in your library.

They may show a clip, but if I had to bet on the line-up, it would be:
Daffy Duck and the Dinosaur (Jones - 1939)
Prehistoric Porky (Clampett - 1940)
The First Bad Man (Avery - 1954)

Of course, I'll be hoping for "Caveman Inki" but that isn't likely until Toonheads starts airing at around 2:30 a.m. ....

To me the perfect lineup would be:

Gertie The Dinosaur
One of those "Stone Age" cartoons I keep hearing about
Caveman Inki (a great cartoon, IMO)

Hey Moe! (Nyuk! Nyuk!) ...er, I mean, Nelson!

Sorry to be a total nagging pantywaist, but the creator of Gertie the Dinosaur is really spelled Winsor McCay.
Let's talk privately soon...

Best wishes,
David (running quickly before a flying brick hits him :-)
