And now it's time to announce the one lucky winner in my "Terrytoons Thanksgiving Contest"...And I would like to thank everybody from the bottom of my heart who participated and gave it their best shot, and making my first contest a complete success.

But before I announce the winner, here are the ten answers.

1.True:Mel Blanc was the very first voice actor to provide Woody's voice in the first year of the series.And also created his most famous laugh.

2."Felix The Cat" was the first Macy's giant balloon in 1927.Two year's later, Felix would also make history as the first televison image shown on tv in 1929.

3.Here are the series the Mel Blanc did not do the voices for LT:The Three Bears, Cool Cat, and Merlin The Magic Mouse

4.Mickey Mouse uttered his first words in 1929's "The Karnival Kid"

5.The first silent cartoon series to make the successful transition to sound was..."Aesop's Fables", the title was "DINNER TIME" which was relased one month (Dec.17, 1928)after "STEAMBOAT WILLIE".

6.After the falling out with his former boss Amadee J Van Bueren, Paul Terry left his old studio.He formed his own along with partner, Frank Moser and started their studio in the Bronx, at the old Edison studio in mid-1929.Then in 1934, they moved to New Rochelle, NY where they continued making cartoons until the studio closed in the early 70s.

7.TRUE: "Frostbite Falls Follies" was the original name for the pilot on what would be later renamed "The Rocky Show"

8.Betty Boop was the charicature of the original "Boop-Boop-A-Doop" actress Helen Kane, for which she was a contract player over at Paramount Pictures in the late twenties.

10.Gandy Goose was based on Ed Wynn, Sourpuss was charicature after Jimmy Durante.

Um...ooops... you already answered that one as #8...

What about the one dealing with the 4 cartoon series that Columbia released in 1931? :confused:

Here's what Columbia Pictures was releasing in the cartoon shorts dept in 1931.

Mickey Mouse

Krazy Kat

Silly Symphonies

Scrappy

They were the only studio (at that time) to be releasing 4 different cartoon series, either through distribution or they had came out with the studio's own cartoons.
