What happened to Hamtaro? Is it still on the air, or is it cancelled?
I remember Cartoon Network aired a Hamtaro Haloween Special in the early fall, and that's it.

I don't think Hamtaro isn't on that much anymore maybe time to time without any notice. I guess Cartoon Network had other interests on other shows they wanted to get out. However in my opinion, Hamtaro would have made a good show on the Miguiz block.

Hamtaro's not an action show. It didn't fit on Toonami either.

Last run through I can recall, Hamtaro, Oxnard, Boss et all were on early morning weeday. Which, I thought was a good time slot for their demographics.
I love the show, and for the life of me can't understand why it didn't click with older age groups. I s'pose it was too cute for them. Darn you silly kids. Don't know a good thing when you see it. :p

Yes, I watched Hamtaro on two instances, and that's what I'm referring to.

I believe Hamtaro is cancelled. But, I could be wrong. Not like I care anyway it was one of the crappest animes I've ever seen.

Don't know a good thing when you see it. :pI think it has clicked as a cult favorite with a few older viewers (I remember when the anime-rental shop in my area added a few import videos to its rental shelves, and "Tottoko Hamutaro" was one of them). However, the tots are its prime audience, and I can't imagine why CN would not have done well among the 2-11 demographic when "Hamtaro" ran in the mornings. Frankly, CN needs those kinds of shows early in the morning (where does CN think its going to get its viewers for Miguzi and Toonami a few years down the road, if all the very young viewers are watching other networks?).
I believe Hamtaro is cancelled. But, I could be wrong. Not like I care anyway it was one of the crappest animes I've ever seen.I wouldn't consider that fair to 4 Kids' "Tama and Friends", a far inferior show to "Hamtaro". Personally, if "Hamtaro" is canceled, I would consider it a shame, as the second season had some rather intriguing developments.
Personally, if I were in Shopro's shoes, I'd be talking to DIC Kids, or 4 Kids TV (if their name change from Fox Box indicates they plan to strike out beyond SatAM on Fox). Maybe even Disney (hey, they have run anime on ABC Family, and they did run "Hello Kitty" on Toon Disney for quite a while, a much better track record with anime than Viacom has with Nick or UPN), or maybe even PAX if they're willing to dip their toe into kids' programming again (which they quickly yanked out again after airing Jack Hanna, "Archie's Mysteries" and "Carmen Sandiego"). "Hamtaro" wouldn't be the first show to become a big hit with another network after a false start on the first go-round.

Well I didn't like it... Is this really a CN show? :-S It was on Jetix here!well actally it was Fox Kids, because it was before the Jetix takeover when it aired.
This showed really sucked IMO, It was really just for pre-schoolers.
It would go better on Nick JR.
In England it was cancelled AGES ago, they only ever had 2 adverts: 1 for the new series starting and 1 for new episodes starting.
I *think* it was only on for a few months

You would not catch me dead watching Hamtaro, but in CNs case it would be an exellent addition to Miguzi like others said or to keep its normal spot in the morning.I personally didn't like it but CN could have great with it if they gave it the right spots.
My old user name was "Tottoko Hamutaro", and I wore that name proudly for a long time darn it.
Then it was canned, so I needed a new name. But, if it wasn't, I'd still be using that name proudly. Darn Proudly.
And those are my thoughts on the show.

I think Hamtaro would fit with (Warner Brothers Kids Block or CN's  ) that they are making, along with Baby Lonney Tunes and the new Krypto Series! ;)

I do agree that Hamtaro would go good along with Baby Looney Tunes for the 3-11 year olds, but IMO think Kryto would work well on Fridays or even in Miguzi in the future.(way in the future that is):D

I can't figure out who's doing their program scheduling, or what their aim is, but heck, the shows I see in early hours can not be the ones geared towards the wee viewers.

I can't figure out who's doing their program scheduling, or what their aim is, but heck, the shows I see in early hours can not be the ones geared towards the wee viewers. The scheduling philosophy of CN has long been a source of bafflement to me. They've had the tendency to grab ahold of shows like "Scooby Doo", "Totally Spies", Cartoons Cartoons, etc. and run them into the ground by running them around the clock. For instance, why yank "Sailor Moon" a mere couple weeks into four seasons' worth of episodes, while you slot "Totally Spies" a dozen times around the dial weekly when you've only released just a precious few of the available episodes?
The early morning doesn't necessarily have to be targeted at the kiddies (though it has been since the days of yesteryear with Captain Kangeroo), but that time would seem to be the most logical time for CN to target. It would make absolutely no sense to use the wee hours of the morning, late afternoons have already been branded for teens with "Toonami" and "Miguzi", and primetime would logically be suited either for Toonami, or shows aimed at the entire range of demographics. I remember being told by a mom (some years ago before Cartoon Network came on my cable system) that her kiddies were glued to CN daily; I imagine they're viewers of Miguzi, Toonami, Cartoons Cartoons and maybe even Adult Swim by now. But it seems that CN is content to let other networks brand themselves with those young viewers nowadays.
