Pokémon Advanced: Jirachi Wish Maker
January 21st, 2005
Gotta catch 'em all! Ash, Brock, May, and Max have to race against time to save a Legendary Pokémon from being used to resurrect another Legendary Pokémon!
Time: 5:00pm
(All times in Eastern)

Main Feature
Jirachi Wish Maker
Ash and the gang are traveling to a certain site where they will see the Millenium Comet, named so because the comet only appears above Earth once every 1,000 years, and only for seven days. They meet up with a traveling festival that sets up shop at the same spot in order to celebrathe the comet. There, the gang is introduced to Butler the Magician and his assistant Diane, who has a strange rock that literally speaks out to Max! In a shocking revelation (well, to the characters anyway), the rock holds the legendary Steel/Psychic-type known as Jirachi, who can make wishes come true. Max and Jirachi become best buds, but something sinister is going on. Who's after Jirachi and for what reason? Can Max take leaving Jirachi after only a week?
Comments: Personally, this is my second-favorite Pokémon movie after Movie 3. If only Ash & co. used more of their Pokémon and there was a remix of "Advance Adventure" (aside from the instrumental), this movie would be perfect. Oh, and hope that CN plays the Ending theme: It's partly in Japanese!

Mini-Movie
Gotta Dance!
Team Rocket has finally managed to complete a brand new base for Giovanni, and has captured a bunch of Whismur to celebrate. Meowth, Wobuffet, Cacnea, and Seviper are charged with keeping the base safe until Jessie & James get back with the boss. Unfortunately for them, Pikachu, Torchic, Mudkip, Treeko, and Lotad have come to rescue the Whismur! But can even Treeko resist the power of Meowth's new weapon: a staff that makes Pokémon dance!?
Comments: Best. Mini-Movie. Ever. A fitting send-off (as the next two movies don't have any mini-movies in them), complete with a tribute to the leigons of dancing Pokémon in the Japanese Ending themes. (The movie theme song, instrumentally anyway, is the 2nd Advanced Ending "Polka O' Dolka.")

NOTES
The first Miramax Pokémon movie to air on Cartoon Network!
Not just that, but the first anything from Pokémon Advanced to air on Cartoon Network!
As if that wasn't enough, it Miguzi's first Movie Special!
This is the first movie not to have a theme song remix during the title screen. And the first movie not to have Misty.
Also the first movie to have May, Max, and the Japanese title theme.
The ending theme is the same song that is in the Japanese version: "Make a Wish," except that half of it is in English, while half is in Japanese (4Kids flew the Japanese singer out to New York to re-record it!).
On the DVD, everything is in widescreen except the main feature. That includes the mini-movie, the end credits, and the Japanese music video.
Kids' WB! continues to piss me off. But that's no surprise. :P
To check out what's happening in the Pokémon world on Kids' WB!, check out my monthly talkback (http://forums.toonzone.net/showthread.php?t=130176), which also hosts the Talkback for Movie #7, which airs on Kids' WB! tomorrow at 10am!
