Actaully I've seen a number of the Beyblade Episodes and in fact I want to be honest.. Is Jetix trying to play off the Success of both Cartoon Network's Duel Masters, and Yugi-oh?
After all the plot is so simple, it's downright laughable.. Kids Using Tops to fight battles..(I remember when Mattel Came out with Whizzers (Their Version of a Top and you had to hand crank them..
but Frankly Beyblade takes the "Top" idea and makes it go one step further.. turning it into a bit of a Combination of a Pokemon Battle with Duel Master Style..
and the winner keeps spinning and the Loser? Well the Top stops..
but the whole point behind these battles.. what are they really? (if the combatant loses what do they lose? their Top? no.. it seems that's too easy to end a story.. so they keep having counter matches, and even counter-counter battles. but again what is the purpose of this show?
Frankly That's why I don't like Beyblade.. there's really no purpose here, except maybe seeing tops spin and do fancy tricks..(if that's the case, why not just give Mattel the Rights to this show, and let them break out their Old time hit sellers... Whizzers!
Edited Note: Seriously though, what is the purpose of winning a Beyblade Contest? Just for Bragging rights?

To show the kids how cool spinning tops are?
I saw an episode of this show and I have to agree with you. It was quite a while ago, all I can remember is looking for the remote.

(After all In Yugi-Oh, the characters usually are wagering something (and in some cases in a few episodes their Lives, or even worse, Their Dignity..=After all I remember one of the Yugi-Oh Episodes that had Yugi playing to keep Joey from being in a Dog Costume..)
but as for Beyblade (All Versions) , The Plot's So weak You don't need a Spinning top to cut through the wet Paper Towel Thin plot.. (I mean Seriously they need to give the kids a Better reason then just to spin tops, and have just bragging Rights.. (Unless the main reason is that the loser has to hand over their "BeyBeasts" if they lose..(After all that's what Most Duels are about.. You have to Lose something other then just "honor" here...

When you'll see the series finale, you'll be surprised. The plot is very weird. I saw it in Italian and it's so Dragonball Z for a 60 minutes episode.
Broklyn will have black wings, he will open a huge black hole that will aspirate every thing on Earth. Takao (Tyson) and Broklyn will battle in the sky and in the black hole.
That is not all because at the end Tyson and Broklyn battle normally and we never know who wins.
V-Force was pretty stupid. Everyone wants to steal the bitbeasts. I laugh so hard when Hiromi (Hillary) talked about Kai. She thought that Kai is on a secret organisation.

In the cartoon, it's just so you can be world-famous.
In real life (yes there are contests), you win some cash.

The third season is no more stupid than the first two. Once you get past the pointlessness and predictability of the bey battles themselves (not to mention the regular offending of physics), the character interactions are fairly well done.

I like Beyblade. Good animation, good characters. The storylines are pretty weak, but the series is still enjoyable. And most anime has competition, so this is just following a tradition rather than gripping for sucess.

Pokemon, Digimon, and everything similar to those I can understand being popular. Creatures with superpowers that do whatever you tell them to.
Beyblade is battling with spinning tops. I fail to see how that is fun. I can see Yu-Gi-Oh! being fun. There's a lot more to it. But spinning tops? No.
Decades ago, before the advent of video games and such--- battling tops was a big thing for kids.

I remember. We even used to use wooden tops spinning around real large concrete nails. To us, "battling" meant cracking apart the others' tops using those nails. :D

Actaully I've seen a number of the Beyblade Episodes and in fact I want to be honest.. Is Jetix trying to play off the Success of both Cartoon Network's Duel Masters, and Yugi-oh? Except for the fact that Beyblade came out years before Duel Masters came on CN.
After all the plot is so simple, it's downright laughable.. Kids Using Tops to fight battles..(I remember when Mattel Came out with Whizzers (Their Version of a Top and you had to hand crank them.. It's made to advertise tops to kids. Why make an anime about kids playing with spinning tops complicated? It's gotta be simple.
but Frankly Beyblade takes the "Top" idea and makes it go one step further.. turning it into a bit of a Combination of a Pokemon Battle with Duel Master Style..
and the winner keeps spinning and the Loser? Well the Top stops.. It isn't really a combination of Duel Masters or Pokemon...I suppose if you count them using strategies to try and defeat their opponent, but then you'd have to say that about many other shows too.
but the whole point behind these battles.. what are they really? (if the combatant loses what do they lose? their Top? no.. it seems that's too easy to end a story.. so they keep having counter matches, and even counter-counter battles. but again what is the purpose of this show? They battle either for fun or in tournaments. They don't lose anything usually, unless the opponent intentionally breaks the other's beyblade, which happens quite often. The tournaments are big in the anime. Heck, in the show it's considered a sport. Playing with tops is a pretty silly idea for a sport, but I suppose it's because of the danger involved with it too. The beyblades spin at impossibly fast RPMs and can use special techniques to destroy the opponents beyblade or rather hurt the opponent badly. Blowing fire at the opponent's beyblade while trying to blow him away with the fire, making your bit beast slash the opponent with it's claws, even using a technique to practically kill the opponent and sending him to the hospital. It's very dangerous. I can't see why these kids' parents would let them play.
Frankly That's why I don't like Beyblade.. there's really no purpose here, except maybe seeing tops spin and do fancy tricks..(if that's the case, why not just give Mattel the Rights to this show, and let them break out their Old time hit sellers... Whizzers! Because Takara marketed it better. Beyblades were incredibly popular in Japan when it first started, mainly because it was beigoma for the new generation. However, beyblade involves much more strategy than you think. Each part has a different use and you must select the right parts to make an effective combo to counter a specific beyblade. There is no all-powerful beyblade and there are many things you need to take into account when battling. First off, your opponent's beyblade. Spin direction, combo used, and even shooting technique matter greatly in playing. The type of stadium used matters a lot, and screwing up just one of these costs you the whole match. I bet Whizzers couldn't do as much as beyblades can.

Well.. G Revolution is my favorite series of the three. Then 2002, then the original.
But it's not my type of show.

That's how we used to play pogs. I acquired some pretty cool pogs from my loser combatants back in the day. Too bad those pogs are worth jack squat nowadays.

Visually the show is pretty tight. The animation is classic "anime" if you will. The storylines...well I cannot relate to them. The whole idea of playground battles is something I've never experienced and cannot understand since I'm easily a person to drop the revenge/hate/inferior feelings and move on.

:coyote:I beg to differ on this the purpose of the series is to take over the world with beyblading, the first series was Boris tring to take over the world with his beyblading solders team called domlition boys, then the second series Zeal tring to take over all the beybreakers bit-beats for he could turn into human, than the third and finale series Boris comes back and take over BBA, and turn it into BEGA and try to take over Dragoon. Will that's the reason for Beyblade, V-Force, and G Revolution.

Well the Bit Beasts seem to be able to blow things up and destroy things.

Wouldn't smuggling weapons be more effective in taking over the world?
Considering that losing or winning doesn't effect anything (other than the ego) I wonder why most bladers are sore losers? It wouldn't surprise me if a majority of losing bladers out of depression took a gun to their mouth and blew their brains out.
Yes, like Blood said, their Bit-Beast are the wepons. Why in the heack do you think Boris whats the four Bit-Beast Dragoon, Dranzer, Driger, and Draciel, to take over the world by forces. Beacuase if you watched VForce Hiliarly coludn't see the Bit-Beast meaning regular humans couldn't see the bit-beast only the bladers could. So if Boris takes out every blader whose stand in his way the earth is doom by the people, being not able to see the Bit-Beast when they attack.

f you really think about it, f you would like to watch beyblade series and miss alot of episode Jetix gives a whole lot of chances to watch them over. Let me see here Jetix were showing Beyblade two times everyweekend one were a re-run of the preveious new episode and one new episode. Than Jetix started to show the whole Beyblade series over on weekdays morning. So that used to be a grand total of nine episodes a week. But now thanks to the newer series Shinzo Beyblade series comes on two times every weekend.

Well, I don't know if I'd consider Shinzo new. Shinzo debuted on the exact same day as beyblade back in 2002 and was pulled after a handful of episodes, leaving a second season that didn't air for 3 years, and then that season debuted on Toon Disney. I don't know if I'd consider that new or not.
