By the way, my second favorites would be a tie between Porky and Daffy (Even though I love the B&W Porky cartoons)

To paraphrase the master :
Bugs is my aspiration - Wile E. is my reality.

--Foghorn Leghorn, with Wile E. a close second.

Is it just my imagination, or did McKimson have the least number of major characters associated with his name? I know several directors did work with the same character, e.g. Daffy, Bugs, Porky, but there are some we look at and call a "signature" character--Wile E. is a "Jones", Taz is a "McKimson", Droopy is an "Avery" (yes, different franchise, but you see my point) and Tweety (depending on how you see it) is a "Clampett" or a "Freleng".
But Foggy was the only starring character McKimson had, seeing as Taz was a supporting player and the Mckimson Cat had even fewer shorts to his credit. This is why I think Mckimson had so many one-shots, maybe the most of any of the Warner Big Six (the four above, plus the Lesser Sixers of Tashlin and Hardaway, who didn't seem to have a signature Warners star, unless you maybe count Ben's prototype Bugs). Bob seemed to be looking to find the other big thing, which explains why he experimented across the spectrum, with a Heckle and Jeckle/Buzzy(?)-ish crow in "Corn Plastered" (note also the farmer in that short looks like he might have borrowed Freleng's Sam model sheets) and a family of redneck possums in another piece.

In addition to Foghorn and the Tasmanian Devil, McKimson also had Hippety Hopper and Sylvester Junior. Plus, Speedy was introduced in a McKimson cartoon in "Cat-Tails For Two" (although Speedy was redesigned by Freleng for his second cartoon).

The others have their offdays, but Foghorn is always, Ah say, always funny.
