This may be the dumbest question on earth and it has probably already been asked, but is Toonzone the most popular website about cartoons on the Internet? By popular I mean most hits and traffic. When CNX merges with Toonzone it should be, but I am unsure what the situaton is on popularity.
If it is not, than which website is the most popular for cartoon info?

There is Cartoon Research and Animation Blast that are good for news items, but this is the best site for not only news I have found but also the best animation message boards I have ever found. I think this site is very popular, but I don't think about stuff like that. I don't consider if this site is popular or not, but if it's run well and a good place to visit, and it is.

I'm sure that official sites like www.cartoonnetwork.com get more visitors, but we do pretty good. And we do better as time goes by. In October we got as many hits as we did in all of 2000!

I'm pretty familiar with all of the other Cartoon sites out there, both small and large and I have to say that ToonZone is among the biggest and the best. They're definitely up there with the already mentioned Cartoon Research & Animation Blast, if not better in my opinion, considering their news is about the cartoons themselves, not so much about the animation industry in general. I do wish that ToonZone would expand a little bit more and cover ALL Cartoons, including those from Fox Kids and Disney.

I know that the creators of this site are looking for ways to expand on this site, so you never know! But until then, the AniGen board really does cover all cartoons, and you can also feel free to discuss Disney cartoons at the Termite Trading Post board. But this very board right here is the animation free for all, you can talk about all the other forms right here.
Toon Zone grows as they find sites to host and the hosted sites express a desire to have a message board set up here. So you never know where the future might lead this site, but I am sure it's bound to grow.

Here are some stats for those of you that are interested in such things...
So far in the month of November, Toon Zone (as a whole; meaning all our hosted sites are included) averages 267,361 hits a day (i.e total daily loads). For the entirety of this month so far, we're at 7,218,760 total hits. These numbers are much higher than they were for October, which conversely were much higher than they were for September, etc.

To be honest, I don't really visit that many animation site ebcuase all I want it reported under the Toon Zone umbrella. I visit www.cartoonresearch.com and www.animationondvd.com on a daily basis and www.animationblast.com whenever I can stomach the poor writing of Amid Amidi, but that is just about it.

I visit those on a daily basis too, but it's a rare occasion if I EVER make it to Animation Blast. I also visit this site of course, www.animeondvd.com, www.seegeemayhem.com, www.icv2.com, and DVD Animania (www.wildcoast.org/dvd/).
On a somewhat unrelated note, I visit www.TransFandom.com & www.BigBot.com daily for my Transformers fix.

I think we are one of the most popular animation websites on the web. It all started with Brian, Eileen and Colin and look how far we've come! BTW, I'm sure you already know this Duncan, but Toon Zone hosts CNX already, but the message board will be moving over here in addition. I'm sure that's what you meant, but some people don't know that since they just use www.cnxtoonami.com.
