This week, on Thursday, The Tick will be pre-empted for a special on the upcoming Lord of the Rings movie. Here's the Thursday break down:
8pm (ET) Fox Special: Quest for the Rings
8:30pm (ET) Family Guy (why Family Guy? The special is a perfect lead in for The Tick! Gah!!)
9pm (ET) Temptation Island
Family Guy is getting lower ratings than The Tick (rightfully so) yet Fox keeps that on? Geeze!

The Tick will air again, however, on December 5th and 6th.
That's right, two new episodes in one week!
I believe one of the episodes is called "Couples". I forget the other name.

Uh oh... Tick pre-empted during a sweeps month... not a good sign. Anyone know how it's doing ratings-wise?

Based on this news, I must sadly give The Tick until the end of January to be cancelled. FOX has a terrible habit of cancelling promising shows (Action) and sustaining incredibly stupid ones (The Family Guy).
As much potential as The Tick may have, FOX has a bullseye on it's back.

There are...what? 8 Tick episodes? I think FOX may air all eight and then that's it. ACTION was also killed in their Thursday night schedule. Luckily, all the episodes of ACTION aired up here in Canada. Before it was taken off TV here as well.

Yeah, i know. That's 6 left. You'd think Fox had "pre-empted" it enough. I remember seeing commercials for it sometime around last year.

That's a shame. I kind of assumed that the Tick wasnt going to last long, but I was hoping it would. It's a hilarious show! It's too bad it doesnt fit in with all the other preconceived norms of a prime-time comedy.

Hopefully FOX will air the remaining episodes before they shelve it for more "Who Wants to Marry Washed Up Millionaires" and "When Dogs Attacks For Fun" specials.
