The Guard

Read that Bruce Timm is really excited about the season ending storyline. Says it involves a character that he feels hasn't gotten his due. He claims the only TV series etc that the character has had was a crappy 1941 serial. So...I can only think of Captain Marvel. Since the JSA can't appear...Anyone familiar with 1941 TV?

I think that we've come to the conclusion that it's a character named Blackhawk.
Don't worry, however, I think that Captain Marvel will show up at some point.

I really hope Captain marvel appears. I really think it would be interesting to see a character that DC sued to get on one of their shows.

Captain Marvel's awesome. He's one of just a few characters who everyone loves. You ask anyone if they like Captain Marvel, and they'll say yes. I think it'd be hilarious if they got Tim Daly to voice him. Since he can't do it regularly, I think he'd be able to do a guest stint. Actually, George Newbern would've worked out really well as Cap. The irony of it all...

Captain Marvel did have a serial in the 1940's, and hasn't really been seen in film of movies since. Why couldn't it be him?

Yeah, George Newburn would have made a better Cap. Oh well.

Cap DID have a live action Saturday morning show in the late 70's called "Shazam!", just like his comic book series. He shared an hour long block w/a series starring a character named Isis. I think it lasted for two seasons.
Later, in the early '80's Cap starred in a segment on the animated "Kid Super Power Hour with Shazam." That show was broken up into a Captain Marvel feature and an adventure starring teenage super-heroes in training from "Hero High." (And people think that the Wonder Twins were a lame idea!)
I think that the character being referred to is Blackhawk. Check out the "Plastic Man in JL" thread for another discussion about this.
