Hi-sorry if this has already been addressed. I caught the second showing of Ultimatum last weekend and have a question about the speed of Superman and the speed of Batman's and WW's jets. When answering the call, Superman said he's 3 mins away; and between Bats and WW - Bat's jet blew past her and left her in the dust. And Batman was the first to arrive? It seems Superman(with near light speed ) should be there first unless he's over on Saturn or something. He should be able to reach anywhere on earth in about 10 seconds. (much faster in reality). And WW can fly at about Mach 3 (around 2000mph as established in the comics) so I assume her jet with its invisible hi tech must be at least faster than that. So how fast is Batman's Jet? I've considered the fact that Bats and WW must be much closer, but Supes should've still been there first. I know I'm overthinking it , but I can't help it:)

man i thought i was alone on that observation, when i pointed that out to my girlfriend.she looked at me and called a diehard and said i think if flash was there he would've beaten them all there after he would've slipped on a banana peel.

I don't Think Superman has "Near Light speed." At least not since Crisis, and Certainly not in the DCAU. I think Superman can fly about as fast as the fastest fighter jets.

I read somehwere (i dont remember where) but it said that Superman's speed was lessend so not to rival the Flash's speed.

I think Superman can fly about as fast as the fastest fighter jets.Actually the current comic version of Superman can fly close to the speed of light. The Pre crisis version was actually faster than that. As for The Flash his speed is just under light as well. The difference between the two I beleive is that Supermans actual movement speed is less than The Flash's. Superman can only fly that fast while The Flash can actually move his entire body at near light speed.

But I agree the DCAU version of Superman doesnt appear to be quite that swift. How fast he can actually fly hasnt really been detailed to my knowledge but Im sure he is as fast as the fastest Earth plane.

In "Speed demons." Superman appeared to be only alittle slower then Flash. But knowing Flash, he probably was not going top speed, do to his ego.

Well Superman was easily able to outfly Batman's plane in batman beyond, while he wasn't even really trying. So if Supes can outmatch batman's plane in the future, I doubt bat's present one would be anything compared to superman.

I like to think that, given Batman's need to have the best tools in his line of work, the Batwing is at least capable of Mach 2. With the redesigns it's undergone since TNBA/JL, it might even be faster- it bears more than a passing resemblance to the legendary SR-71 Blackbird, so it might be able to reach that plane's speed of Mach 3, and even beyond.

I don't know how fast Wonder Woman's invisible jet is, but if Batman was at all involved in its construction it's probably not as fast as the Batwing. Like I said, only the best for Bats- and no one else. ;)

The Flash is faster than Superman, as seen in Eclipsed.

Hi folks,

Byrne, in his mid-80's reboot, specifically made Superman slower than the speed of light. However, in today's comics, he's still a true speedster, as he can go to any point on the globe in mere seconds, and fly to other planets in our solar system within minutes. In fact, I recall reading that some writers goofed and described the time it takes Superman to get from planet to planet in less time than it takes light.

The episodes "Dark Heart" and "Eclipsed" leaves me to believe that Superman is the second fastest League member. I just wish he used that speed more often. ;)
