Ashley Simpsons' Orange Bowl performance...

I didn't see it. But, on ESPN radio just now they played a portion of it. She was horrible..I mean horrible. And she was booed heavily at the end. The radio guys were astonished how she got this. I guess after the SNL debacle they don't want to have any backup vocals for her. Boy, she needed it.

I watched it last night and I enjoyed (ok I'm bliaesed(sp) I've got a slight crush on Ashlee, don't know why, but I like her) I was shocked at how loud the booing was, so I went to see if anyone was talking about (and was shocked to see that noone was talking about it here or on Joblo or Comicbook Resources or any of the other boards that I regularly visit) so I went and checked the the MTV boards and pro-Ashlee fans were saying that there were audio problems (which I noticed on Kelly Clarkson's perfromance but not for Ashlee's) and that is what the fans were booing, but now there have been reports from people that were at the game and they said the booing only started when Ashlee took the stage and that there were no audio problems in the stadium just on TV.

Also people who were at the game have also been saying that not only were people booing her but they were also chanting You Suck and also chanting Jessica (why I have no idea, I prefer Ashlee but that's just me).

Still, even the most ardent fans have to admit that this performance was, well, atrocious. I can't sing, I know I can't so I don't unless I am alone. Maybe some other people should do the same, or stick to the studio.

I think aside from Michael Moore's acceptance speech at the Oscars, that was the loudest mass-booing I've ever heard for non-sports-related reasons.

And I heard a clip of her "performance" and the subsequent reaction from the crowd on PTI. Wow, was that ever harsh. Sounded like she had been gargling with razor blades. And Tony Kornheiser was just as merciless as the crowd was.

I fell really bad for her , the new season of her Mtv show starts at the end of January, and I doubt that the ratings will be good. Over at http://www.ashlee.zap.to/ which is a very funny sort of anit-Ashlee site, they've got screen pics of the end of the concert and in the last pic you can just tell that the minute she gets out public view andstart crying. I think that Ashlee has good comedic timing and might be a good comedic actress, but I think her career as a singer might be over.

I've never seen the appeal of this Ashlee Simpson character anyway. She has no talent, doesn't look that attractive, has a defunct personality, and even her hoe-down skills are shaky, at best.

She's just riding the wave of "fame" thanks to her moderately-better looking, somewhat passably nice, and slightly-better-but-nothing-specially-talented bigger sister, whose fifteen minutes of fame are also long overdue.

I don't think she ever had the ability to sing. Her songs are 99% digital voice alteration. Much like Britney's last two albums (the ciggies probably destroyed what ability she had.)

That's probably because they alter her voice in the studio. That's why at the end of my post I said that some people should not sing in public OR should only stay in the studio.

This just affirms that she has a lot of reworking done in studio. The SNL thing could have been bad luck and a one time thing. This event just proves that she's a no-talent hack trying to ride her sister's popularity wave. It's harsh, but she just doesn't have it, and I doubt anyone else will give her a chance now to prove that both of these were somehow mistakes, if that's her and her publicists etc. story.

Ashlee's career as a singer is over, but I think she has some comedic skills and should work on enfusizing(sp) them.

The thing that has suprised m is that we haven't heard anything from her dad yet, whenever anything goes wrong for either Simpson sister Papa Joe usually has some attempt at damage control statment ready, but it's been 5 days since the Orange Bowl and we haven't heard anything from him, Ashlee or anyone in the Simpson camp about it.

Another thing that I'm curious is the status of her Mtv show, the current season that kicks off at the end of the month was supposed to follow her as she prepared for her first tour, and was going to included the SNL inccedent on it, I'm pretty sure that the Orange Bowl was filmed for the season because I believe that her tour was/is supposed to kick off in Febuaray and that would be filming all of her major appearnce including those two previously mentioned along with her perfomance at the AMAs and winning at the Billboard Awards.
