View Full Version : PPG episode question
What was the name of the episode that just played tonight? the one where Mojo goes back in time to stop Utonium from becoming a scientist? It had an interesting Gerald McBoing Boing cameo in it.

I think it was called "Get Back, Jojo", but don't take my word on it. :D
(If it is called that......what the heck?! Can't they think of something better?!)

The ep is, indeed, entitled 'Get Back Jojo', and that line is from an old Beatle's song (somebody connected with PPG must be a real Fab Four fan.) I believe the lyrics go something like this:
Jojo was a man who thought he was a loner
But he knew it wouldn't last,
Jojo left his home in Tucson Arizona,
For some California grass,
Get back, Get back.
Get back to where you once belonged,
Get back, Get back,
Get back to where you once belonged,
Get back Jojo!

Jojo left his home in Tucson, Arizona
For some California grass.
Get back, get back
Get back to where you once belonged
Get back, get back
Get back to where you once belonged
Get back, Jojo
Sweet Loretta Martin thought she was a woman
But she was another man
All the girls around her say she's got it coming
But she gets it while she can.
Get back, get back
Get back to where you once belonged
Get back, get back
Get back to where you once belonged.
Get back, Loretta
Your mommys's waiting for you
In her high heeled shoes
And a low necked sweater
Get back home, Loretta
Ah, get back, get back
Get back to where you once belonged.
This is a rough memory, as I haven't listened to it in a few days. It is kind of repetitive. Technically a McCartney number that's listed as a Lennon/McCartney collaboration. Lennon himself hated the song and thought it was a slam on him and Yoko Ono.
There are two versions released, the full length single and a truncated version from the album Let It Be. Originally "Get Back" was that album's title track. It has the distinction of being the last song on the last Beatles album, as well as the last song in their last concert on the Abbey Road studio roof. The last run-through from that is on Anthology 3.

Then your Dad would probably enjoy 'Meet the Beat-Alls', which is packed to the brim with Beatles refs (durn, that ep *really* ought to've won the Emmy, not that mediocre 'Simpsons' nominee.)

Yeah, he saw it...taped it, actually. He then sat me down for about two hours and showed me EVERY SINGLE REFERENCE to the Beatles, from Abbey Road to Michelle. I fell asleep in the middle...G-d, was I tired...

PPG and my favorite band of all time - the Beatles. It doesn't get any better than this. :D

Danielle, I'm going to have to dig out my notes on MtBA and see if I can match your dad. I caught a ton of Beatles refs and it took most of a night to do it.

Good luck. My dad's measures up to about 5 pages....without double spacing. ;)
