I was reading the advance info on the new Superman 3-part series coming out tomorrow and the following paragraph caught my attention:

A young Clark Kent watches in awe as his supernatural abilities steadily grow, and he stands at the brink of a new world of power and possibilities. But for the first time, he finds reason to question the limits that his adopted parents have placed on him.
If anyone has been following Smallville. The big theme recently is Clark question his parents about the limits placed on him(playing football,etc.).

I for one am really looking forward to this series. Plus, how can you go wrong with Alex Ross covers.

That could end up being more than a nod, they may blatently rip off the stories. I am going to get this too, but I am afraid that they are delving into the past too often for Superman. It is messing the continuity up too much. Assuming it still exists in comics.

Well, I read the issue. And I am not sure what to think. It was actually two stories. The first being a current story of criminals trying to steal something while avoiding Supes. The other being the back story of Clark as a boy learning about using his powers. I found the current story a little confusing and not that interesting. I was much more interested in his childhood story. But, it is not given much time in this book. I am hoping that it will intertwine a little more and get better in the next book. Also, the artwork was also a tossup. A great cover by Alex Ross. But, I disliked the artwork inside.
