Yeah, they suddenly realised, while they can handle fanboy testrosrome, they can;t handle Fangirls and Furriest might.

I might watch it then, just to give it a chance but I have been hearing really bad things about it. Then again...people like to jump to conclusions about everything today. As for talkbakc threads....still open season XD.
ME.
...please. ^^; I would love to host the MMP talkbacks. I've had my eye on the spot for a while. I can provide (raw; unsubtitiled of course) clips of media for the original attacks/transformations/openings/closings, grab screencaps, provide character name changes, and links to other informative (without fansubs) websites.
o.o; Um, yeah. So I would really like the job.

Are video/audio clips really needed for talkbacks?

It'd just be like a better version of the edit list, not really needed but it would be a nice plus.

its not that difficult to obtain stuff like that :) magical girl shows have super rabid fans that love easily collectable media like transformation sequences and stuff most other shows dont have hehe! Kida like me probably has good access to alot of show fanart and other goodies I bet :)

Yes. Do you have anything to add to the conversation other than that observation?
Meanwhile, I almost wonder of if TMM constant delays are due to maybe 4kids having a change of heart on it. On the other hand, I'd almost bet we'll still see the same thing the trailer suggested: Everything changed but the Strawberry Bell. It's kinda lame too. I've been getting into the manga as of late (as it's much less filler-tastic and way more shoujo-romantic at point,) so I would've up for getting up early on Saturday mornings to give the TV series another go if it hadn't been dub flattened.

F***in' A. Yes. The attitudes some of you people have... My God. The most self-important cartoon nerds I've ever encountered.
What I was wondering was the plot of the show. All I know is that it features five girls, not unlike the Sailor Moon crew, with food names, and I don't understand the "mew mew" reference. Are they connected to cats in some way? And there's another magical girl anime that I get this one confused with, because both of the main girls wear pink.

Use the term "F***in' A" or "cartoon nerds" again, I'll give you an official warning, as it's a violation of the Terms of Service here at Toon Zone. Three of those, and you're probably banned. Is that clear?
Names in bold = Moderator. Just in case you didn't know.

The Mew Mew part is partially because of the cat ears on the lead character (also, the manga-ka (author) of TMM has been known to wear cat ears to signings, events, conventions and even around the house.) Also, the project that turned them into part-animal is the "Mew Project." Lastly, they have to find "Mewaqua" water which is a powerful/magical healing water that only exists deep beneath Tokyo in the story. Oh, I suppose the fact the team of editors at Nakayosi Magazine that worked with the manga-ka on the project were looking for cute, goofy names may have also played into it. My odds are you might confuse it with Ojamajo Doremi, as I believe it's got a similar color scheme going on for it's cast of magical girls, though the story and character designs are radically different.
See, all ya gotta do is ask nicely and ye shall recieve. Any other data you're interested in for TMM?

:ack: Sorry Boss. I use the term "nerd" all the time, not really supposed to be an insult. I'm a nerd and proud of it. :) *cuddles her Star Wars toys*
And yeah, I sounded like a real jack***. Sumimasen, sorry. *bows down and licks lots of feet*
Well I gotta say I'm happy to hear that it will [possibly?] be coming to TV. Because, while I didn't know anything about the story (thanks for explaining), the characters are adorable, and I've prowled many-a anime merchandise sites VERY tempted to buy the Lettuce girl.

Ok, that's overkill, but thank you for the apology. :anime: I know I was a little brash too, but I'm not a fan of posts that seem confrontational or gratuitous. I use nerd all the time too, but I try best to keep from applying it from other people unless they are cool with it first. This is internet, and tone and intent read poorly in conversational text. <-well, I guess emoticons help somewhat.

Well, the problem is, is that it looked like 4kids (distributors of over-americanized series such as Pokemon, YuGiOh and One Piece,) had made a number of changes to Tokyo Mew Mew, including renaming the series to Mew Mew Power. All of the names for the characters and attacks changed but one, and all of the music, background and otherwise, was completely stripped out of it and replaced with new, dull music. It's been delayed repeatedly, so maybe 4kids is relenting on it and gonna do it right, but I wouldn't trust that.
As such, I'd look towards getting the manga. If you've got a Costco store in your area, and you or a parent or a friend or someone you know has a membership there, you can pick up the first 3 volumes of the Tokyo Mew Mew manga for a mere 13 dollars. It's a pretty sweet deal. If 4kids ever releases an uncut version of the TV show, I recommend it if you're looking for some sweet, silly shoujo action with a dose of romantic entanglement. Otherwise, stick with the manga. Outside of a few typesetting gaffes, Tokyopop did a good job with it, the art and story are sweet and adorable (better than even the uncut anime version IMHO) and even the behind the scenes bits on how the manga was made are fairly entertaining. :D

It's gonna happen like one piece; They'll get eveyone's hopes up by releasing some footage with the orgional OP and OP song in it and then replace it by a (worse so) Chessy pop tune, therefore infuiating evey single person in the USA while they continue to give Europe (Or more accuratyle, the UK) the hard sholdier.

You've not been paying any attention to TMM have you? They've already released a promo trailer that included the new OP. It was completely hacked to shreds from the get go, no false hopes this time. A complete round of name changes save for one attack name (kind of,) none of the original music was intact and the OP was entirely different from the original Japanese OP. It's already been done. Unless they back out of it entirely, they can't back out now to just a faithful op. They'd have to back all the way out to miguzi-level editing, which would basically allow TMM in uncut and complete.

Yeah, I mean that alone speaks volumes. They've developed too much in the way of character bible for the edit version to back out of it with out a complete redub from scratch (granted, the delays suggest atleast some tweaking, but the amount of rework that'd need to be done for the US edit is crazy. A guarenteed redub would be in order.)
^^; Ehehe. Call me a purist [or a "rabid fan" o.o;], I suppose. But you must know THE TRUTH! o.o
Ahem. And anyway, I feel bad for Italy. Not only did they get an altered dub (they left the alien's names alone I think, at least), they edited the manga as well (it goes under the name "Tokyo Mew Mew Amiche Vinceti" ['Winning Friends']). At least we have the manga to rely on in America.

I have, I have and for the most part, I was being Cynical of 4-kids practices. But in any instance, true, I suppose.
