Castlevania DS news and pics can be found here (http://www.gamesarefun.com/news.php?newsid=4098) .
This may be the first of many titles that draw me into a DS purchase. We'll just have to wait and see.

Wow the action takes place in the bottom screen rather0 than the top...Also I heard somthing interesting. The reason why the DS has two screens is that the way they are programmed, it's near impossable to illegaly emulate right.

The most intersting part is that the touchscreen isn't being used for general controll just for drawing different pentograms and such at the ends of boss battles to seal them away.
It is, to me, the most logical use of the touchscreen so far introduced.
Seems pretty cool. I think a map would be a great way to utilize the non-touch screen because of Castlevania's heavy emphasis on exploration. Maybe if this one does well, we can receive a Symphony of the Night (sp?) port.

It will be better than pausing everytime you want to see where you stand, that's for sure.

That actually looks pretty interesting. We'll just have to wait and see how this turns out.
Oooooo a direct follow up to AoS. I'm glad that my favorite Castlevania game is getting a sequel, but I'll have to rely on a friend to buy it since I doubt I'll ever pick up a DS.
The seal system sounds cool, but the enemy soul system is where it's at. The multiplayer versus sounds promising as well. Hopefully they'll be able to provide numerous and varied soul abilities, or else versus will be a waste of time.

If this game is being done by the SOTN crew, then it's worth it! :)

New Castlevania game with further enhanced 2D goodness? Yay!
2 screens and stylus use? We'll see, I guess.

Thank the heavens above they kept it 2D and didn't try to go some kooky 3D route...

Thank the heavens above they kept it 2D and didn't try to go some kooky 3D route...I'm sure they learned from the Castlevania 64 games that they weren't very good at making, well, 64 bit Castlevanias.
And before anyone says it looks just like the first:

Arg, make that 3 games I will be buying a DS exclusively for (Vandal Hearts, FFIII, and now Castlevania Aria of Sorrow 2).
Though I still have absolutely no reason to get one until these games come out (which will be a while).

While it does look cool, I think it ruins the ending of AoS.
Regardless, this game is not enough to make me want to waste $150 on a stupid DS. When Super Metroid or Ninja Gaiden Trilogy are ported to it, then I'll buy it.

At 64 bits, they could finally top Symphony of the Night.

Im hyped for Castlevania on the DS. Aria of Sorrow is easily my second favorite game in the series (SOTN being my favorite) and this looks very cool. It's just too bad that the game play is on the bottom scrren and the map is up top. I prefer the top screen for gameplay, but having it on the bottom makes the touch screen gameplay a bit easier since you can see the trail to follow with the stylus.

Here is something that you should drop to your knees for, and worship.

Ohh, the parallax...
I wonder if that's the in-game music. If it is, that is sweet. I mean, nothing groundbreaking composition-wise just yet, but it sounds almost as high-quality as SotN's music.

Looks stellar.
I'm looking forward to it.
Though I'm fairly confident that this quality of game will be a rarity on the DS just like its predecessor was on the GBA.

This looks to be awesome, but IMO it is a bit dissapointing graphically. Well as long as it's good as any other Castlevania I guess it's fine then.

This looks to be awesome, but yeah it is a bit dissapointing graphically.First of all, who else said it was disappointing graphically?
Second of all, get some glasses.
(I don't want to start something here, I just happen to think you're insane.)

I never said anyone else said that. I may have worded it wrong, but I never tried to suggest that.
Second of all I do have a pair of glasses thank you and I am pretty much crazy. :D Anyway, I never said the game looked bad, but the graphics aren't that great! Maybe with the exception of that huge boss, those graphics can practically be done on a Gameboy Advance. Yes I did watch the video at IGN, and I am stunned by how you can use the touch screen to shatter ice (that was frickin' awesome.) This is my opinion, if you don't like it fine, just don't be a jerk about it.

Good natured? You, SirLemming? Don't be silly. (sarcasm)
back ontopic.
I haven't been able to load the pics yet, but I'd love to see see this come to the DS. I'm loooking forward to a pretty decent number of games coming to the DS for that matter.

[QUOTE=Opaque]I'm sure they learned from the Castlevania 64 games that they weren't very good at making, well, 64 bit Castlevanias.
So I take it no one never told you about the 3D catlevania they made a year ago on the PS2 and now their making another one? Some developers never learn.
