View Full Version : Superman - Crisis ???
When I go to Superman websites, they always mention crisis, pre-crisis and post-crisis. What's the deal with this crisis? Was it in the comic books?
Crisis on Infinite Earths, the big one in 1985-1986. There was this big villain called the Anti-Monitor who was full of hate and had been around since "Creation". He unleashed anti matter that was destroying all these universes, when his opposite, the Monitor, took all the heroes from our Earth and the old heroes from Earth 2 and all that and they beat the Anti Monitor and his cronies, but a ton of them died, including Barry Allen, the Flash before Wally West. Anyway, Harbinger was this Monitor guys protege and guided the heroes to victory, in the end all of the worlds were unified into one reality, one earth, and one universe, which is where we are now in comics. All the comics before the Crisis is considered fiction in the DCU, so all the Earth 2 team ups and stuff are nothing.

It's still in print in trade paper backs and is easy to find. I highly recommend the book!

Here's an easy way to think of it:
Pre-crisis: Old DC
Crisis: The reset button, which lead to...
Post-crisis: New, "current" DC

Also, it was the DC Universe housecleaning, getting rid of those pesky retcons in hard to reach areas. Ah, but then Zero Hour...
