if you have used cartoon orbit you will notice that the dexter 2.0 ctoons have the new lok so dexter 2.0 is taking over the old dexter...
i am kinda starting to like the new dexters though...

If it was canceled, I don't think we'd be seeing the new episodes.

I think this is the last season of Dexter's Lab.

well, you know some networks keep episodes in storage then bring them out and that's it..I was basically just asking if the episode that airs last week was the last one..and..it's not..so I'm happy now.. :)

I first suspected CN holding out for more DL, but after talking to Genndy at SDCC, it wasn't the case.
Dexter was never cancelled persay. However, he didn't feel like doing more Dexter's after season 2, and took a "break", ultimately working on the Powerpuff Girls and pursuing other creations (Samurai Jack).
Having worked enough on PPG, though, he felt it was "time" to go back to DL. Hence, season 3. But SJ got the green light too, so that's where his dedication is now.
Essentially, the way it sits now, as long as SJ is around, there won't more DL's. That's Genndy's call, not CN's.
-- Kane ... who had the impression that CN will reasonably fund as many DL's and PPG's as the creators want to do.

thanx narfcake! :D
I think that I read over at IGN.com that Genndy said that this was in fact the last season of "Dexter's Lab." That would bring the total amount of episodes to 65. I hope it doesn't end, because I'm one of the select few who actually likes the new episodes and the new designs.

If this is the last season of Dexter I hope they REALLY play up the last episode. Let all the "stuff" hit the fan. Heheh.

i dont get what you said but i'll go with it!
Maybe at 65 eps they will try to syndicate it. If I remember correctly, that is the magic number.

Hmm... it could be as simple as how Zimed said it...
No.

Am I correct these "New Episodes" are not directed or even assisted by Genndy Tartakovsky, who created Dexter anyway? That's a big sign they won't do very well...remember Gene Deitch's Tom and Jerry, Alex Lovy's Daffy and Speedy, Bob Camp's Ren and Stimpy, then the change in Johnnny Bravo styles...cartoons just don't do very well when the original people aren't doing them.

I haven't even had the chance to watch the new eps yet ('twas working on my cars while the tape was running), but having heard some "acquantainces" comment about Genndy, he'll never let his creation pass without his approval.
He's been known to re-board entire scenes himself because it "didn't look right". Of course, this was then, and nowadays ... ?
For certain, he's not giving as much attention, but I doubt he's letting it slip beneath him.
-- Kane ... but that's all just what I think, not what's fact.

NO....
(BB gets on knees and screams at the sky) NNNNOOOOOOOO!!!!
Sigh...oh, well. This is sorta like the Simpsons. Apparently ever since the creator on both shows left, the show's been on hard times. I myself saw a new eppy and liked it; but I too admit the old seasons are the best. I think ala Matt Groening Gennedy's still in basic overall command, and will undoubtedly not let it slip up overall, but he can't fix up everything with another show to pay attention too.
65 is the magic number, though for syndication. I'm pretty sure of it, which means I may have a chance to see DL regularly if it's syndicated. :)
I do hope CN gives DL a proper farewell. If it doesn't, it's time to get out the pen and write a letter...

Dexter -is- being done by the original people.
But they've grown to a point of maturity where it would be impossible for them to draw the old style even if they tried. I asked Chris Savino about it and that was his answer. And he knows more about Dexter than anybody.
Genndy may say that it's the last season, but that depends on if Genndy even has control of his show anymore. Chris and David may want to continue after season 3.
