UPDATE: Craig McCracken says that he has not been informed by 'the network' about a move, as he had spent Thanksgiving working on the movie, as they are very tightly scheduled to keep the thing headed for July. If you are a Warner Brothers executive, and you have read this news article, please let us know if the movie delay is official or a hoax. Thank you.

Warner Brothers had been in decision to move "The Powerpuff Girls: The Movie" since November 10th. The original date was scheduled to be July 3rd, taking on Columbia Picture's "Men in Black 2."

This week, they've finally found a place for the movie: Sometime in September.

The motives for the move are uncertain, outside of keeping it from competing with a big blockbuster like MiB2. Whether "The Powerpuff Marathon" (a collection of PPG episodes, including the airing of 8 brand-new ones) will be delayed or not is uncertain, but because the reason for the marathon was to pep up for the movie premiere, it will most likely be pushed into September as well.

UpcomingMovies.com (http://www.upcomingmovies.com) had this to say:

Some times a September film can really bust open to huge box office. With this being released so early in the school year, it might have a chance at grabbing a certain zeitgeist of the moment, when few other kid-friendly movies are opening.

Though there is no real official webpage for the Powerpuff movie, Cartoon Network set up a small Flash teaser, which you can access at http://www.powerpuffgirlsmovie.com by clicking on the little ad button for it.
